How many of you work with the pre set handle?

?
sorry Josie, have no idea what you asking
VL has a setting on top that holds the needle
in an open position giving it the ability to
function as a single action,,,
Badger 150,,, same but with a small set screw...
Some Iwata brushes come with a handle that
has an adjustable setting but restricts how
far the needle can be opened !!!
In answer to the question,,, Nope,,, never
had an occasion to use'm,,,
VL,,, locks it into a single action !!!
Badger 150,,, same !!!
Iwata,,, locks the needle to prevent blowing
it out every once n awhile,,, (which I tend to do)
Upside,,, gives a consistent setting (theoretically)
Downside,,, works against the double action principle !!!

oh...yes...I have used that!....(I used to own a VL)
...there have ben a couple of times when I was filling colour.
and I have used the line adjusting screw to control a consistent spray.
There ya go Josie, making this more difficult for me. Then Whit and Dave join in to get technical. I use a badger 155 anthem, don't know if it has this setting but I don't know that I would want to use it for learning.

I never got used to the idea of a preset. In fact, I take the handles off my airbrushes all together! When I am working on really tight stuff, I need to rear back and blow out the gun and/or move to a color fill to take a concentration break, so I've never found it useful I guess. Just all in how you learn I think. It makes logical sense, just never worked for me in a practical way.....
