There has been a lot of talk about using windex to clean air brushes – that the ammonia will do permanent damage to the airbrush, etc. I have a question about that – does anyone have an airbrush permanently damaged by windex? If so, would you please post pictures of the damage. I use cheap window cleaner in my brushes with every color change and have been doing so for more than a year without any apparent damage. I do not let the brush soak in window cleaner – ever.
Ok, I have another question – if the chrome plating is removed from parts of the airbrush does it affect the performance of the airbrush? My best guess is that it doesn't. The chrome plating is there for decorative purposes only.

I've been cleaning my brushes with windex for 3 years now and no ill effects. I clean 'em and then run a bit of water trough them and never soak them. The only way the chrome will be effected is if you soak them in the windex.
