Far as the work, I like it. Only thing that sticks out to Me is the four flame licks at the top almost look Identical to Me ( If that makes sense.) Overall Good job , Liking the colors also.

I like the randomness of it (not the Swiss cheese effect). You did a good job. The only thing I would suggest is coming back into the edges of the flames some with black. It has a slight overspray look. Then again, it might be the photo. Good work! :clapping:

Indeed, very nice for practice. It looks not bad @ all. Make another 100, is what they always said to me hehe...well, I have done 50 now & I still suck LOL
Yup don't sweat the looky count...Some forums get 300+ views with no comments...hahaa....I only get comments from my friends most times..Tiz all good.
I'm no fire pro and don't like 99% of it..Most peeps strive to get it to look like the stuff on DVD's out there...I don't like that either..Soooo hard to say for me...I prefer the random stuff.........Soooo my point, I have nothing to add..LOL.....Keep painting is all that matters, All kinds of taste out there and I'm sure your stuff will be somebody's flavor:ybeer:

transparent black? the flames look like you are looking thru a LOT of smoke, making things hazy? how to correct?
dont know how you did what you did, but it needs...'emphasis' and somehow get rid of the fog/smoke effect?

I think you need to do the black to tighten it up around the edges, but suggest against coming over the body of the flames themselves with it, even trans black i think will kill it. personally I'd use candy red til it's dark as you want other than the opaque black "editing"......

Ok, went in with the black. Highlighted a little with white. Any better?

black helped.. the white, IMO is TOO abrupt in where you put it.. the shift from white to whatever needs to be a bit longer blended in?

yep...maybe a lil trans yellow to blend it?

By using black and defining a few random licks, it will look less foggy without looking mechanical. The other effect you need to get down, and its the same problem I ran into in the past, is the fact that real flames are mostly transparent-a look hard to achieve unless you use a lot of reducer or use a transparent color like Kustom colors line of candy colors that are transparent. I usually do my flames using the candys as a beginning point, then adding the accents here and there with regular colors to solidify them. I like the little glowing embers at the top. I also have recently started to add "glow spots" to some of the "solid" parts of flame licks, just a couple here and there. If you watch real flames, they tend to stun your retina and produce these same glow spots occasionally.

try mixing some yellow with the white or hit it with some light candy yellow to tone the whit back a little bit
