I read a thread on AB.com about a Mojo that a guy ordered and was skeptical about his purchase till he got it and like it.I have a Mojo and like how it performs.I want another fine detail airbrush but right now things are tight and I can't put out that much.Someone mentioned the Badger Renegade Velocity
so I wanted to check them out.Couldn't find none on BearAir site so I did a google searsh and for some reason Badger's website isn't working right so
I looked again and found that Coast Airbrush sells them.
Wow I was amazed,$92 and it has a 1/3 oz cup and .21mm tip size so
I ordered one.
it might not be the same as the MoJo and in fact I like how it looks cause
Richpen has their cup tilted back toward the trigger and my finger gets cramped sometimes cause I have big hands the Badger Velocity's cup is not tilted back which might be more comfortable for me.I'll still use my Mojo but if the Velocity does anywhere as good I will be using it alot as well,If I like it I might even buy another next month cause I can buy 3 Velocity's to the price of 1 Mojo and if it performs as well or close to the Mojo i'll be happy.
I'm not all about the hype and having to have a a certain brand airbrush,to me if it does the job and it's less expensive to purchase, why not?

bear air do list them and at $97 ,i believe there was an initial pre production wait for these but as far as im aware they should be available without problems now
i am getting one myself as the price is incredibly cheap for the specification of the airbrush and so far all reports are favourable and the renagades seem to be comparable with Iwata Microns
i do own a Mojo i got it second hand on a swop so i did very well on the deal ,what i will say is the Mojo is as incredible as eveyone says. so if the renagade can match the Mojo it is one hell of a deal
by the way i reshaped the triggger on my Mojo and took a lot more material off the front now i have no problem with interferance on the slanted cup however if i ordered another one i would ask Mike Learn to tune the 0.2 phoenix with the smaller cup as i dont see the need for a big cup myself as the Mojo uses very little paint anyway so it seems like overkill IMO

There is a review of one of the new velocity in the latest Airbrush Art magazine. (the one that has a lot of digital art in it as well...)
Anyway, it got pretty good reviews, so maybe it wont be like all the other badger products...which are pure crap!
It looks very industrial looking doesn't it? I think it looks cool.
I read that it's a bit heavy, but that might actually be a good thing...
Let us all know how it works, for the price, it definately will appeal to a lot of artists on a budget. (like me..)
As a side note...I had a thread quite a while ago about the Master G44 that I bought from Airbrush Depot on kustomshop.com. It ended up costing me about $80, with shipping, and it's a .02mm detail brush WITH a micro air control valve on the bottom, like the custom micron.
This airbrush has been in my lineup now for about a year..and I still use it every day! Great airbrush for an un-real price...also, parts are CHEAP to order and readily available. Anyone interested should DEFINATELY check it out.

that master sounds suspiciously like a 180 ab by fengda ,i have one i tuned it and put an olympos nozzle in it changed the chuch spring for a softer one and its now an extremly resposive airbrusk capable of some extreme detailing ,the olympos nozzle made no difference to it but as i had some that cost me nothing i thought why not
mine cost me £33.00 localy but the Tiawanese version looks better with three screw on gravity cups
i have someone who is getting the renagades trade price so it looks like i can get one with postage to the UK for $100 or around £50.00 all in
its not how a brush looks but how it performs that counts plus i know a good chromer if i dont like that industrial blue finish LOL

I have the Extreme set which come with all 3 brushes. Velocity, Spirit and the Rage. So far I have tried the Velocity and I was amazed that it shoots very nice. It can pull a hair line just as good as my Micron C. The trigger is the bigger one from the Vegas. The bigger pad is nice. The Spray Regulator looks like that of the Sotar. The nozzles are only $7.50. I plan on using it right along with my Iwatas. The Rage comes with a .33 mm nozzle and cannot wait to play around with that. Over all for the prices it's pretty good brush. And thats hard for me to say for the fact that I was never a Badger fan. Wait to you see how they mount the nozzles.

kewl, but I have a littel bit of a wait,to no supprise to me cause they are out of stock and well everyone knows Badger has their head up their butts and it takes forever to get parts or airbrushes from them.
No big deal I had a feeling it would take a little time.

I know this is a old thread I have one of those master airbrushes which I believe are the same as the disposables from bear air and I love it but I wanna switch the needle out with a iwata one and I must say for the money it srays nice. But the needle seems that it could use a longe tamper so I might just order one.

The Masters are not the same as the "disposable" airbrushes from bearair. The Master airbrushes are made in China, but not by Fengda (which is notorious for unbelievably low quality). The so-called "disposables" are to the best of my knowledge the Fengda knock-offs.
I still don't understand what the logic is in buying a disposable airbrush, but to each thier own, i guess. "A fool and his money are soon parted".
So far everything I've read about the new Badgers has been mostly positive. Even if the Renegades don't really live up to the automatic micron comparisons, at least a US manufacturer designed and produced a new brush. At the very least, it's a step in the right direction.
I tried to get the local hobby shop to let me try out one of the Renegades (don't remember their names offhand) so I could compare it head to head against my Infinity, microns, etc. Unfortunately, they only have one of each in stock, and didn't feel like "loaning" one out.

Well my Verlocity is on it's way from Badger so I should get it next week
I'll post the results I can only compare it to my Mojo cause I don't have a Micron and never used one

well I have to retract my statement above it seems Badger is not iventorying stock they produce to order which meen they are in production with new airbrushes that they have orders for from airbrush suppliers and it takes 3-4 weeks to produce so it takes 4-6 weeks for the suppliers to get them once ordered.Badger is requesting all suppliers to make advanced orders and not wait till they run out of stock cause it will take them 4-6 weeks to get them again.I guess the Suppliers are not yet use to this and why alot of them are having problems keeping them in stock.
Badger has been quite helpful in me getting my new Airbrush as soon as possible. They direct shipped it so I don't have to wait till it gets to Cali at Coast just to be turned around and sent back to Florida.
Badge is in Illinois BTW

if your thinking of getting one I wouldn't hesitate
They are nice airbrushes and it will do fine detail like the other brand brushes,I think they have a nice feel and balance and the trigger
pulls nice, not hard on the finger where you will get fatigue from long use.
I'm thinking of ordering another one I really like it that much.

so you feel it performs just as good as your mojo
KewlKustomPaint

not sure I haven't compared the two yet.The Mojo spray's awesome and I can't knock it.
The Velocity is a more economical airbrush for those who want a fine detail
airbrush but can't afford the big pricetag.
I like how the Velocity feels and it has a nice balance

everyone seems to rate these with the micron C but i found the renagade pulls as tight as my 0.18 olympos or a 015 infinty therefore i think it could be a contender for the micron B title not the C
i am still waiting for mine as there was a slight mistake with a dispatch and only one arrived of the two ordered so i had to send that one to someone else but he did allow me to have a little play with it first
what it doese do amongst its other atributes is atomise paint to a degree i had yet to come across on an airbrush and did not think was possible on a conical spray pattern
the nozzles are mounted in a very different way but im not telling and you can be as surprised as i was LOL

Paul I just figured out your Artspray on Ab.com and KKL
I'm JeffsCustomPaint still on AB.com cause I didn't go there alot and never switched it to my new name.
The Renegades are getting good reviews of those who have bought them but it seems suppliers are having a hard time keeping them in stock. Most likely cause they are not ordering alot of them cause they are new and don't know how the market is but they all better start making bigger orders from Badger
cause The Velocity's are going fast. The price makes it easier for those who want to try them without breaking the bank and all that get them are really satisfied. They spray really nice

Hi, I Love my velocity till I bent needle, and perhaps damage tip :hanged:. It is a nightmare, to find spare parts in UK it is impossible. And I saw a huge difference in price. 163F in England versus 95$ in USA :dropjaw:. But the next time when I order tip from coast ab, I consider the purchase Spirit.:)
It seems to me that, Badger is working good with the more difficult colors.
But this observation is from a beginner.

Mcdevil
