Hi I was woundering how many of you polish your needle and nozzle on your airbrushes and if you feel that it helps your brush spray better?

Hi OT, yep, I polish them, usually after some use. This is just an assurance that they are clean and will perform as good as possible under pressure. I typicall just use a little 3M Finesse II compound, rinse really well. Maybe its not even doing anything, but logic says that a smoother, shinier needle may not hold paint build up as quickly? Just my $ .02....
On my new Micron, since the needle and nozzle are hand matched, I haven't bothered messing with it.

forgive the spelling.. Meguires metal polish comes to mine..
the stuff you use on FINE metals.. hand lap it a bit on a piece of leather, or if one is brave, into the nozzle and do both.
in the OLD days, it would be the equal of 'hand lapping valves' on a car engine

I will remove the needle from the abs then I use auto polishing compount on a paper napkin and slowly turn it with a drill then i repeat it with semichrome polish as far asd the nozzle I reinstall the needle and hand polish the nozzle it will polish easer because it is softer metal then I clean the abs real good.

Ok Guy and Gals!!!!! I tried to get permission from the Learn's on this but my PM's have not been answered. The following Pic's came from the Noz and Needle replacement kit that I received for my Mojo. I'm hoping that giving credit for pic's and information allows us to post it???...At least I have not stated that this is my stuff!!!!

Hi Steelhorse.
I do polish my needles and am using the polishing product that I received with MOJO Noz and Needle replacement kit as well. I dont do it all the time, only at about every 3 to 4 times I use any of my airbrushes.

Hey Air Dave alot of the absers I know will polish the needle and nozzle of their abs to help air flow around the nozzle and to cut down on dry tip on the needle the MOJO that Mike Learn sells comes already polished it is a way to make your abs a little better , but you can mess one up if you don't know what you are doing .
