hey all
well i have done a fire for ya with the steps i use.....with pics....for those who made want a little guidance in coloration ..i use the hok fire kit,,,,and a washable tack rag from home depot.....so here we go

step 1
i use molly orange and loosley throw down some flamage..all freehand...but i do tend to get a little carried away here and put down some hard lines..hehe to much in hurry to get too the next step.....in this step i also hit it the candy red as well ..i know thats 2 steps but you couldnt really just see the
first one very well.....in between i tack rag to get over spray off and clean it up

step 2
molly orange again ..and defining things a bit...in step 1 i actually had and idea were i was going with this...and i carried it on..and tack ragged overspray

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c70/scron2/004-6.jpg

step 3
.i hit it with candy tangerine orange..letting overspray hit the first layers...no worries thought as it will pump up the other layer so dont be too careful....and tack ragged off the overspray....

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c70/scron2/006-2.jpg

heres a pic of me tack ragging ..yes i have a skull ring....lol

step4
next up chrome yellow.....i tighten up and define the flames more each step...
i reduce the size of stencils i use as i go..i have made 8 or so..and as i tighten up the shapes get smaller..freehand too....any shape any kinda of a wiggle....fire is unpredictable..so you cant make a mistake as it always turned into a cool lick
i try to not cover the first layers too much and take a differnt direction to represent movement.....and as always tack rag it.....

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c70/scron2/007.jpg

step5
i hit it the tangerine orange again...again not worring about overspraying the other layers...you can see the colors getting deeper..getting there ....

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c70/scron2/008-3.jpg

step6
again another layer of chrome yellow...tighten up again and changing directions slightly....i like to not make this layer not to opaque...letting the other background colors come through......remeber freehand even on this step .flares lines are cool ...remeber to keep the direction going the same way...try not to cross back over ...keeping a flow,,,,try to keep this step toned down as too much yellow here will overpower the other layers!!!!
tack rag it ,,,,

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c70/scron2/009.jpg

step7
now you have it almost done,,,heres comes the popper...hit it with the kandy pagan gold...everything will jump out now..espically the last chrome yellow ...so go easy on it....use less of the brighter colors as you go...

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c70/scron2/010.jpg

step8
you can mix the yellow and white 50/50 and create hot spots not too much though it is easy to get carried away here..and i have before..afterwards you need to tone down the whites as thats how it will look
again with the kandy pagan gold just were you have used the 50/50 mix

step 9
i now look at it and decide what has to go....you can shape your flames...be careful as you can see (i did this on purpose to show you what i have done a few times before)...YOU CAN TRASH YOUR FIRE...lol....its all good as you can see i lost the flow in the uppper left hand conrner..by erasing too much with the black...

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c70/scron2/011-1.jpg

last step
i just hit with a rattle can for clear to show how the colors show through.....

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c70/scron2/012-1.jpg

so ther you have it....get yourself some cool fire pics keep them in sight and give it a go...dont get discouraged if your fire dosent look like anyones else...get your style and run with it

cheers

JC you are running with this thing Bro!!...this is great!!

There's spots that have a greyish blue look on my screen..Guessing it's the chrome yellow over spots that are pure black base, (outside the 1st layers) Then ya cover it and do it again..Stayed till the end in spots..That IMO is the coolest part..Has that signature "heat" vibe in those spots...Good show my friend!
