Here's something I started today. I've been wanting to do a black T with more color than what I have done so far. Kind of tricky because you need white everywhere in order to get the color effect. All week long I have been wandering on how to go about this without covering all with opaque white then loosing all the reference marks.

This morning I just loaded up some white and I started by building all the facial features while applying more white to the very bright areas and less to the darker areas, a bit like when doing a monochrome painting. I then mixed some white with a tiny bit of blue and repeated the entire process (I guess I could have skipped the white step). I then loaded up some deep blue mixed with a bit of black and started on the shaded areas. Then I came back with some Pthalo Blue straight from the bottle. Still have quite of bit of work but happy with the progress I have made. So far, about 5 hours of work and all Createx paints and worked with Iwata Eclipse series airbrushes.

I like it, Luc!

Do you first spray the transparent extender and iron the shirt to get the fibers to lay so flat?

what psi are you shooting at?

Very clean and dimensional!

Here's an update on this T.

To locate the scales on the face, I've printed to the correct scale on plain paper, the entire face area. Then with my X-Acto, I cut out all the scales. Then I lay over the T and give it a grey fog for the white light areas and a white fog for the darker areas. I dont want to put down more paint. I just want to get them in the correct spot and this is why I use the eyes to properly locate my stencils. I tryed using some acetate and mylar, cut with a stencil cutter sine it went faster than with X-Acto. This is the part I hate the most and this is why I was kind of stalled on this project.

Then, my wife asked me what I was doing so I explained to her that I had to cut out all the scales. She said the magic phrase: ''that looks fun, can I try?'' Man what great timing. I now have her on cutting duty!!

me myelf, I would love to work on black. Even though it may take a bit longer, the finished peice looks really good. I'll try to use extender and then heat press it to see if that helps any.
