i would go with an Iwata hp-bcs ive had badgers and dont like them. i use my iwatas for everything shirts helmets bikes. they might be a little more expensive but well worth it. never had the vegas so i cant comment on them.

The old vegas were great lil brushes,, but,,,
I've heard some not so good stuff on the newer ones !!!
Matter of fact,, I've got grav & bottom feed Omni's,,,
which was T&C before badger and they're great brushes !!!
I started with a Badger 150 way back when but could'nt
tell ya yea/nea about'm now !!! Was a good brush then !!!
Good Luck on your selection !!!:partyalone:

The Vega 2000 & Badger 150 are not very good compared to the newer airbrushes like the 155 Anthem $49, Peak x3 $49 or Iwata hp-bcs $84

I have a couple peak x-3's and like them. Theyre comparable to a iwata revolution. With shipping and handling your looking at roughly 63 U.S. bucks. Anywhere from 5-10 days to your front door. The badgers are okay but theyre not as responsive as the iwatas are. Ive never used a vega so I cant compare them to anything I have. Another thing to consider is paint types. If you will be using a uro paint (solvent based) you will need something with teflon packing. Are these something you will be buying locally or ordering over the net?

dibo, if it's a newer iwata, it will have teflon o-rings... that's what corey is talking about. if the airbrush is to be used with urethane based paints, and the airbrush does not have teflon o-rings, the urethanes will erode the o-rings.

Dibo,,,
For automotive applications,,, urethane (uro) paint
is closer to what's on the factory auto,,, "uro's" are a
solvent (oilbase) based medium and can melt
the seals (O-rings) out of a brush not designed
for this type of paint !!!
You did'nt indicate what projects you plan doing here
and can make a difference which/what airbrush you
need and can use to the greater extent in your pursuits !!
Good Luck on it !!!
Let us know what you decide and give an opinion on
your selection for others that may be faced with this !!!
It's input like this that can guide others in the future !!!

Dibo, on a single action airbrush, you push the trigger, paint comes out with the air. With a double action brush, you push down for air, and pull back for paint. Kind of an infinite control.

I would suggest going right to a double action airbrush, unless you are just painting model cars or something with solid colors.

The vega would probably be a fine brush......
