whats the difference between overall and spot hardeners

honestly never heard of the two..Maybe one is faster then the other?..Seems you'd want "spot" quicker and "overall" to have more flow and slower dry time??..hahaha, random guess.

What brand is this??..Be nice to know in case I ever run across it.

Ya hiter on the Head Dell , Spots Quicker tack, Dry & cure time , faster turn over on Basic bodyshop repair jobs, Repair paint, Clear & Cut & Buff , Out the door .

Overalls slower For Completes . To Make it Flow Nicely . while Having to reload & Go at it again. BUT,. All brands of Materials & the Way They are designed can Change from one product to the Next. & Spray patterns, Reducers & Pressures. Not to Mention Temps, Humidity, & Curing Process. Such as A heated booth, Infra red heaters & or Heat lamps . Bottom Line Is There is No simple answer . But Should help You narrow it down a bit. Do some Research on Products Your using & Experiment is My best suggestion. & Best of luck . Just My Opinion, Dont make it Right.

Reducers dry the paint ,activators cure the paint. Two totally different concepts. Spot activators cure quickly and overalls take longer.

Not Sure what Your point is FS. Reducers are Used to Reduce the paint, & effect the way it time it takes to dry the paint or can be used to Slow it down for better flow . & Yes I,m aware they are not the same . But can effect the Curing time also of the Hardners . & I had allready Adressed the differense between Spot & Overall. As well as Dell had.

Just trying to provide as Much info as Possible. You can also Slow the Cure time down on Hardened clear mixed if You Get interupted Before Spraying by Putting it in A Shop Fridge Used Only for that Purpose. No Beverages or foods in it . Just to Make That clear .

Reducers dry the paint ,

This confooses me Flat..I'm no chemist, But pretty sure reducers just reduce/thin the paint.....Helps flow and all, makes paint spray through a gun and atomize better.. Tiz why we wait for the reducer to leave the paint, (flash times)...Nothing to do with drying it, woulda dried on it's own anyway...If you could spray it:D

nope abd reduces flash time thats why you use a slower reducer when it's hot and a faster when it's cold.

Well I made the statement to show the difference between dry or flash and cure. For example if you were to put very slow reducer in a spot activator it would take longer to dry or flash as you put it, giving it more time to flow or run in my case. Or vice-verca putting fast reducer in with an overall activator does not mean it will cure quicker, itwill just dry faster. Just imagine spraying urathane, reduced to your liking without any activator . Sure some day it might be dry to the touch but it will soft and suseptable to the enviroment be cause it did not cure .

i did a test with the spot/fast hardner and i put a acclerator in it dried and looked like a dry lake bed funniest thing i ever seen was crackly looking
