OK. I've been trying several times with very unsuccessful results to get fine details on a pumpkin im trying to paint.

What paint are you guys using ?

Ive been using createx and some autoair and when im at a distance I can spray fine, however when I get upright and close for fine details, I spider like mad............

Reduction: Createx.. 10 drops of createx to 3-4 drops of either autoair reducer or water. Same with the autoair. tried all the way up to a 50:50 reduction with the same results..

trigger action, is just barely pulling back. I get a faint mist then a fine line for a second. Then BOOM ! spider.

As of last night, I cleaned the whole thing with Dentaured Alcohol. Shot it with clear. Let the clear sit overnight and will try again today to this time try paint on the clear and see if that helps to hold the paint and give it something to stick to..

Yes Im running a water trap. I;ve also played with the pressure. from 20lbs to 40lbs. Going up to 60 would be overkill for this as I dont need to penetrate.

Funnily enough have just been playing on one, down around the 10 psi mark, especially with reduced paints, tats what works for me any way.

I've been using Createx and E'TAC without reducing (except the createx white) and have been spraying around 30 psi. It has been working pretty well so far. Good luck, would like to see when you get done to see all the detail.
