Went to my local AA supplier today and was talking to her..
Seen the new Wacky Colors Createx?
Seen the new 4700 series AA?

She showed me the 'blurb sheets', that Createx just sent to her describing them..

GEE, the wording on the sheets was identical save for 1 thing..(as far as the description went) DIFFERENT THINNER.
the Wacky colors you spray at 50PSI, and use the thinner for it..
The 4700 listed a different thinner, BUT she was wondering IF NOT both Createx Wacky Colors and 4700 are not the same paint? and perhaps the SAME THINNER???

BOTH SHEETS listed them as 'waterborn' paints.. plus the wording was 'too identical'-her thoughts, for them to be different.

We need someone with a good nose to see if the thinner smells the same?? I cant tell- broken noses ruin the sense of smell..

OH, IF you use the Createx on material, heat set it 325 for 20 seconds..IIRR..
BUT, on anything else its considered (by them) as permanent.

Interesting.

Very interesting thats what scares me with AA they change the formula so often and if they are gonna change the thinner just as often it is looking as if it is not a good investment. Should I stock up 4011 reducer now so I don't run out and can't reduce my paint. Think this is one reason I've been sticking with my HOK it's less finicky and every time I look it's the same. It's a shame cause I would like a reliable waterbourne paint I like to paint with. Maybe E'tac don't know my experiance with water bourne paint has not been a real good one.

she is wondering/thinking its ALL the same thinner, and is actually 4011..

and BTW, she DID SAY that all the Createx paints had a new price sheet, increased 5% or so, IIRR as to what she said.

need to go to Createx web site and read the MSDS on the new Wacky colors..

2 things I notice.

Respiratory Protection:
Respiratory protection equipment is required under normal conditions of anticipated use with adequate
ventilation. , wear a NIOSH/MSHA approved respirator.
Ventilation:
The use of local exhaust ventilation is recommended to control emissions near the source. Provide
mechanical ventilation of confined spaces. Use explosion proof ventilation equipment.
Protective Gloves:
Neoprene or rubber gloves with cuffs
Other Protective Clothing:
Coveralls, apron, or other equipment should be worn to minimize skin contact. Where use can result in
skin contact, wash thoroughly before eating, drinking, or smoking.

Steps to be taken in case of material spill:
COMBUSTIBLE-Evacuate and ventilate area: remove all sources of sparks, ignition, and open flames;
confine and absorb into approved absorbent; place material into approved containers for disposal; do not
wash to sewer or waterway.

Conditions to avoid: extreme temperatures, open flames

SO, am I safe in assuming this stuff is a bit dangerous to breath? we need a better filter than the particle mask, AND its flammable? whats this going to change in the 'mall' situation, where you are ABing in a public place??
