Tell me about it. In a few weeks the wifey's gettin a new bathroom w/ a sunkin jet tub and all the bells and whistles. I remodel houses for a living and the bathrooms are always the things I dread.
Also its -16 here and schools been cancelled today for the younguns so i get to play homebody today. Thinking about running away already and theyve only been up for an hour.

hey thats an awesome pic ....made me laugh out loud because what do you with 3 kids on a snowday ...duct tape them to the wall of course...i hope my car starts i need to go out to get grout for the wall and floor tiles (yes the basement bath has a heated floor NOW! so i went with the ceramic) and some baseboard ...my buddy down the street is going to fix my drywall ceiling mishap i hate muddin and theres only 1 seam and i cant even get that right..lol
then primer and paint ....and caulking ...that damed pedastal sink i didnt have the height right so when i did my half wall and started a border i didnt know and sure enough it was half way into the trim....chit i say so a hammer and chisel and alot of fitting but i got it close will take a pick of that when its caulked....

texture the cieling that way you dont have to be as picky on the joints. I hate mudding too. Believe it or not I hate painting walls worse.

supply store sells a mop looking tool and you mix ceiling white paint into the mud to thin it down. Or they sell a heavy gnap roller head that you can use but I find that to be way more messy. I usually mix in 1 gallon of paint to a 3.75 gallon of mud.

House renos are my life right now, sucks the time out of ABing for sure. Since we bought our place 10 months ago I've redone the flooring on the whole first level (hardwood). Renoed both bathrooms, tile flooring walls lighting and sinks/vanaties. Redid the basement and just finished off the kitchen counter top, she wanted tile on that too. Oh and I built 2 decks for the front and back yards before the snow hit. I hate wood work.:smashfreakB:

Hey Ron, looks like Ya got it goin Yer way, as far as the ceiling. If Ya use the premix mud, & a nice wide trowel it really easy ta get it right, just do it in steps, till its smoth. Now I,m talking fer repair not a complet sheet rock job.

Then prime it good. & if Ya want texture. They (Homax )make a product called Paint N Tex, comes in 3 sizes of textures, Ya mix it right in the paint , stir it good , let it sit fer bout 15 . Put it in Yer tray & roll it on. Not much mess at all. I allways use semi gloss, ( easier ta clean ) I dont know what its made of, but it dont flake off like that spayed on crap. Sure has worked good fer Me. Just a thought. Cowboy

Ahh, home reno's. As I posted somewhere in here, we're almost finished, just need to gut the master bath. Now, soon as the temp comes up a few degrees, gotta start the re-landscape plan. Dang nursery wanted over 15K to landscape (read redo the beds) and plant a few trees. Hell, here in Texas, you can buy a nice lot in the country for that much! So, time to dust off the wheelbarrow, pump the tire, order some pea gravel, and away to the nurseries! (Soon)
