Ok I am going to paint a leather helmet to match the tins..
I have been reading some of the threads and the say to not use clearcoat on leather, to use sheen.
Do you recomend that on a leather helmet as well? It is not flexible like a vest or saddlebags..
I want it to match the tins..
Thanks for the help as usual

Hi laserman, I know I'm new to this forum but I've done a couple of leather jakets.
I use Createx and there is a "gloss clear" in the range although I've not had much success with it!
I would advocate not to clear with 2k because if it were to crack any moisture, (remember I'm in the UK!), would creep underneath and spoil the surface.
I just use saddle soap.
Dunno if this is any help.

I know Medea do a stuff called Top Coat, similar paint to createx unless you are talking AA. There may be something in the Goldens range as well.

I would use the sheen on a helmet too. leater needs to breath to keep fresh..

Not Sure If Yer Wanting Gloss Or Just to Protect the Paint LM . But Anything I ever did On any Kinda Leather I Used Snowshoe Protectant. Like For Boots & stuff . Several good coats a little at a time. Keeps it Well Protected & waterproof. You can get it at Most Boot supply stores . & It Comes in paste or Aeresol .

Great advise CB never thought of that stuff. I'll have to try it on shoes.
