a freind told me about a trick for stencils instead of using plain paper. everyone knows after one coat of paint the paper curls soo go to your local office supply store such as staples or office depot and buy some overhead clear sheets also known as acetate. 99% of the office suply stores have it and it works amazing. cuts super smooth and can be used over and over again i dont know if this was posted already but if not hope it helps you:ybeer1:

It's the best I've used in 9 years for the AB no lifting and no residue

I think I got a bad batch on this 50 yd roll I just got. When I go to peel it up, it breaks off every 2 sec. I spend more time taking it off than I do paintin the sign!! MP

Sorry man, was writting a email to Mike Learn. Anyway, I was going to return it but I did a pretty big sign job (for me anyway) that I knew I wouldn't have too much left. If it does it again though, you bet your arse I'll switch it! MP

I use empty popsicle boxes. The best part is emptying the box first. My first homemade stencil years ago was made from the piece of stock put into folded shirts you buy at an upscale store. After I cut the stencil, I sprayed both sides with clear spray can stuff, and it made it semi waterproof. I've had the stencil, modelled after the one in Radu Veros book (new at the time, shows my age), since the mid 80's.
