Hello, well this is nothing special except maybe to me. Was asked to do a T shirt for my commanding officer for our command picture. It was on a red turtle neck jersey. On the shirt is our command name the Aviation Ordnance symbol and CO for Commanding officer. I had a really hard time getting the yellow on the wings to show up. I first prepped the shirt by having it washed and then ironed. After that I layed the stencil out, was a 3 piece. ( stencil took 3 days to convert from a jpg image to the stencil useing Photo shop, Illistrator and Paint). I sprayed the area to pe painted with extendair, a clear meduim from E'TAC. I put down OP white in thin even coats It just did not seem to cover. After about 10 applications I hit it with the yellow. Same deal, took about 11 or 12 heavy coats before I felt I had good coverage. ( Not happy with how thick it turned out.) After assisting the dry with a mini blow dryer I applied the other two pieces of the stencil and hit it with Black for the detail. The fire I just took a stab at, did not have any refs or the time to attempt a stencil. Well after all of thist time I have finally put up something I have done. Please Please tear it apart LOL. I am trying to find things to attempt to paint, and am looking for some referance pictures for a pin up " Sailor girl" just don't have the lock on the net nor the speed.
Finally,
JC

JC,
Way togo looks Great especially under the conditions You have to work under... As for the yellow next time try to put down a base of opaque white if you have it. Should cover better than the yellow andthen you can cover the white with the yellow to get the color you want with out the high build up. Haven't personeelly tried it but read the technique...

I agree, I think that you did well for your first attempt.
Especially since you were talking about how many heavy layers you were shooting...it was really surprisingly clean and sharp.
Ya did good!
I do agree though, so you're not beating yourself up next time, shoot a base of opaque white first.

Actually I did use Opaque white, but abreviated it in the original post. I might need to get a diff Opaque white paint if this keeps going the way it did. It might just be the material of the shirt, the weave might be a little looser than I expected. I am working on a few more high detail Jersies. Hardest part is the stencils. Thanks again, wish I could have posted a bigger picture so you could see how bad it really was.
