I did a one day striping basics course with Kris Johnson of Pinstriping UK in October 2007. I thought I would post some pictures of my pinstriping progress so far .....

This is the lid of my pinstriping equipment box .....

This is one of several practice designs I made on a bowling pin. The pin is lovely and curvy and great for practicing brush control. When the pin is covered I clean it off and start again ...

OK. My first attempt at striping in anger. This is on the fuel tank of a dragster owned by a friend of mine ......

And finally, some work I did on a ladies bicycle. The owner is the mother-in-law of my dragster-owning friend .....

I am planning to pinstripe my own car this year so I'm busy with the practice, practice, and more practice.
I've got a long, long way to go but pinstriping is great fun and I love it !

Stevie,
Looks like you have good line width and even design spacing. Pins are fun to paint. I made a stand using a bolt welded to a steel plate at a comfortable angle. Made it easier to maintain good control with-out the pin wandering. I ended up trading it to a friend for a striped pin he did so I cannot post a pic. (note to self need to make another)
I do not understand the comment about striping in anger? Is that a UK slang term or were you mad? Either way the tank looks good also. Keep practicing and working on line control.

Keep the brush wet!

Thanks very much for all your comments and encouragement, It's much appreciated.

Tim.... I like the idea of the pin holder. My designs are usually striped with the brush in one hand and the pin in the other. Awkward to say the least !
As for "striping in anger", it's a figure of speech and doesn't mean I was angry at the time. It pretty much means that this was the first striping I did that was for real and will be seen by others.
Actually, I have got angry while striping a few times but that is another story !!

Nice job! Glad to know I am not the only one to get frustrated , isnt it funny that when striping you get three or four lines into a project and you know right then if its gonna be a good day
