Con-Tact....Walmart sells it as shelf liner,$6.00 in the States $9.00 here in Canada.I have only tried the Clear Transparent but it comes in different types. If I took the labels off of it and sold it to you as frisket you would not be able to tell the difference. It comes in 18in.by 24ft. rolls and works as good as anything I have tried for frisketing/masking for a fraction of the price.
For degreasing I had been using Dawn but I found a system that works great every time.Spray with Simple Green then wipe off with a damp (water) cloth.Wipe again with damp cloth with water and a couple of drops of Dawn and then wipe with just clean water and then dry with your airbrush or heatgun. If its wax you have to remove start with Comet wipe off with water then do above.

Have and do use clear book covering as an alternative, generally doesnt leave as much crap behind as frisket can.

Wonder how well contact paper holds up to Uros??...I've used it in the past with waterbase...Uro's might mean a gooey mess though..lol

It holds up fine to uros but has a tendency to leave tape residue bad

actually there is another.. in addition, or at least in my store.
the Contact paper can be had clear or white. its removable..
if I got a sheet of paper, with the pencil outline, a #11 AFTER I cover it with the clear contact paper, and I got stencil.
I cover the backside as well, then use the spray on removable adhesive, and then it stays put.
BUT, recently pursuing that particular section in the kitchen dept I found a clear permanent COVER in a roll. same area as the shelf liner.
this gives (to me) a longer 'shelf life' to the stencil and one that does not come apart. When I lay on the contact paper, I go grab the iron and ironing board-COLD, and use it to press the paper down better than you can by hand.

Just to let you know there is a contact paper that comes low tack..
I have found it in our local grocery store in the section where they sell baking pans..
haven't bought if for a while so not sure what the name is.
Dell I'm not sure much of that stuff holds up to uro's..

I just scooped some up today. There are no airbrush supply stores in my area except for an hour and a half drive away so thanks. You saved me the price of the frisket and the gas.

glad press n seal works ok for masking on interior walls and other things too. wouldnt use it for food after seeing the residue it leaves behind which can be wiped off with mineral spirits.
