Ok here is the run down. I ran into this job and here is the deal they are gonna do the body work I do the paint. Sounds good no I went there to make sure it gets done right. I know bad body work can ruin my paint job and my reputation. I got pictures of the start. Friday met with the owner at NAPA to get sand paper to do it right got 40 grit and 80 grit for the DA and the Long Board. 40 for filler and 80 cause thats what the primer asks for. OK my friend who got me in on this job had attached the scoop with fiber hair so it avoids cracking. Any one who has seen a body kit molded to a car with filler only knows what happens cracking. This was a good start but I noticed a spot that needed to be refibered. I hit the surface we were working on with the 40 grit and had him mix filler. I took the filler and feathered it to the body line. This was a first coat sanded then grabbed some black paint along with the long board and found the low spots. Recoated where the low spots are then resand with 40 grit using the da and again the long board. starting to look good minus some small valleys. So mixxed up some skim coat light wieght poly filler. Layed it out and then flat boarded at 80 grit. Shortly after we coated it with some junk spray primer. Only because I have to order the paint for the owner Monday. Will keep posted as it comes along. He is spending over a $1000 on the paint is going to be all HOK and some of the new alsa web effect paint. Will post more as the project goes on.

Hot damn that's a lot of filler...LOL...Hope when someone slams the hood it doesn't throw some spider cracks in there...That area always seems to flex a lot....Looks damn good tho!

Ever try Fibertech??...Love this stuff, you can take a hammer to it (within reason) and it holds strong.

Cowboy fiberglass and it's non functionable cut on the front and rear. So lifting should not be a problem. The first picture is how it was when I showed up to make sure things are gonna look proper. I just put the paint materials list together for this project and it's right around $1400 in paint and other misc. supplies such as masking and mixing. drew up the graphics today. Gonna be a nice one for the porfolio cause if it wasn't I wouldn't be doing this job. Cause the money I'm gonna make on it is not allot. I'm doing this for reputation factor and to show abilities anyone can say they can do it but with out the proof it doesn't seperate you from them. So I'll eat this job for the most part. When it comes time for the interior to be painted he is gonna get realistic quotes on all the work. After the body is done deal time is over!

Yep ABD I was thinking the same thing. I would have just bought an after market plastic hood if available. Also does the hood use spring or support rod to keep the hood up? If it was an auto here in Illinois the worry of contracting & expanding between heat and cold could be a problem. Well good luck and I'm sure Strictly Attitude has it under control.

LOL he hates having the lambo's to much of a hassle. One of those people who don't listen so now he wants the original hinges back on.
