Hi everyone, just wondering how much heat 1 shot can take before it peels?
I wanna stripe my engine case on my 1100 air cooled V Twin, probably runs to about 80 degrees C.
Anyone had any experience with this?
Thanks.

Thanks Cowboy, why the hardener?
The 1-Shot oem hardener improves the physical bond, gloss and durability of the paint film....

Well sharon, there is nothing in the world I would like better at the moment but unfortunately I'm stuck on my ship in the middle of the North Sea! Still, only for another three weeks then I can get stuck back in!
The idea is to pinstripe over the clear. The state of play with my bike is: my tank is cleared but I need to do it again because I was in too much of a rush to "lash the clear on"! I overlooked a small piece of masking tape!
My front mudguard is cleared and looks like glass! I'm giving myself a big hug on that! (yeah I know I'm a big kid lol).
I have experimented with my back mudguard, after laying down the base coat and misting over with the saphire gem (flip paint) I have 2k'd it, I suffer from a desiese called "too much handling" so I'm gonna do my art work over the 2k then 2k over that.
The problem with being at sea is, (and I'm sure Andy (Draggy) will agree) that time seems to distort your original ideas and then you think about changing things! much better to have all outstanding jobs done before you come away!
Phew, that's a long one! bet no one bothers to read it through! lol

Lol Marty don't I know it mate, plan was for this time, do some side panels for a customer that is next time home now, finish the new leather work for the bike, had a go at fire that was on the to do list ha ha.......then striping has got in the way lol sooooooo much fun.......
Must finish the saddle at least got a little touch up job on the rear fender the sissy bag I had has worn the paint off an as I am having a change and it is going as a solo set up, need to do before I go away, white wall the tyres, service, all good stuff. Wanna see how your stripes hold up, need to tidy my block up an the stripes would be just the job, leaving the tank and fenders till next winter, till I get more time under my belt with the brush, then get some nice scroll work hopefully going on it........
Didn't help pulling an extra week in refit, still have to go back on time ah well pays for the toy's.....
Stay safe mate, heading out a week on Thursday.

Hi Andy, you're a hard man to contact! I even got yahoo messenger downloaded and sent a msg but dunno if I did it right coz I've heard nothing? Can you email me : martyball13@yahoo.co.uk ?
I gotta stripe my tank and mudguards now because I'm not about to "mask - stripe" around all the tribal flames so for me it's babtism under fire! (Glulp!) lol
I was just thinking about where the paint has worn off the left side of the crank box, with my forward controls the cuff of my leather jeans chaffes. (22K miles and all the black has worn right off!) and what to do about it, and then it struck me, why not use 1 shot hence this thread. Cowboy, Whit and Jimmy G seem to think the paint can stand the heat. Going to Faro this year and it gets so hot there! it gets hotter than a ...... hot thing! LOL so that will be a real test! If it don't work out .... no biggy and nothing lost :)
