Here something I wanted to share with you guys. Its actually an exercise I used with one of my 13 year old student. It might not be the most exciting subject, but it does cover many aspects of airbrushing such as masking techniques, free hand work, hand shields, color mixing, fades and a bit of scratching to expose the white of the board.
The subject which you might have seen before is taken from a book an airbrush book entitled AIRBRUSH published by BARON's. It’s really not a difficult subject to do and in total, it took no more than 5 hours to complete which is very good for a FIRST ever airbrush project for a 13 year old student.
I encourage anyone who are trying master the airbrush skills to give this project a try. Like I always say, it’s better to succeed at an easy project than to struggle with a difficult one. You can easily build confidence in your skills and momentum from working on something like this. Give it a try!
If you have any question on the steps to complete this painting, I'll be happy to point them out for those who are interested in giving it a try
The last picture shows both the student and my painting next to each other.

Yep, she did a very good job for sure. Her biggest problem she had was with thes the proper handling of the X-Acto when cutting. The curved edges are a bit rough. But this will come with practice.
One important thing to remember when working with frisket is that your overall work and the end will only be as good as how you have controled the cutting aspect.

Thanks Jason...not sure about ''good instructor''...not me to say! One thing for sure, I know that I'm very very patient and I love what I do. The rest come easy!
You know what they say, you can bring a horse to the drinking fountain but you cant drink for him!!!
The student is the one that desirves all the credit for sticking with it and not giving up.
Thanks

I want to encorporate this as a lesson to my youngin' as well! It has all the basics within it! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I am still a student myself, so I wish I could learn more from you too! Josie, you are very fortunate to have such a great teacher!!!
