Hi Whit,:partyalone: and best wishes to all for the week ahead of us...
I have been happily playing with this squirrel for the last few days, it has been such a joyful job to paint her. Except the surface preparation phase, which was a pain...She's made of marine plywood, as planned to be a garden ornament needed to be water resistant, therefore some layers of filling varnish, lots of sanding, priming, re-sanding and finally base coat application were all necessary ...pufff... :banghead: to obtain a smooth finish on the surface...
I've actually just applied the clear coat and couldn't wait to share a few quick shots of the varnished look, while it's still wet...:wink2:.

Annette, thanks...Well, we actually, as a family, decided this morning that, this one was a she...She's about 40 cm tall including the tail, yes a bit larger than the real life size, but I thought she should stand out in a garden a bit...This one is a part of the series of garden ornaments I started painting recently, for a garden accessories company. That means she might get a he companion when I painted the second one...
Chris, another great job as one always expect from you. I noticed the label on the bottle, is the similarity in names a coincidence, or a :wink2:planned thing? Excuse me, because I'm not really familiar with all the brands...
Here are two more shots...I was able to move her to a corner with better lighting after the clear started to dry...
