Painted this for the Scarlett Benefit that is happening in SF this weekend. Little girl named Scarlett has Rhett Syndrome, so some wonderful folk are putting on a benefit show for her and for Rhett Syndrome awareness.
This is very similar in concept to the red reflected piece I painted up at the Autorama a few weekends ago.

Clear blue plexi base with the sublime and fire red stripes, a bit of my own mixed blue in the 'shadows' of the wings, and applied to the clear plexi that is layered on top of the blue, supported by 1/2" clear cubes.

I am not sure of an address to send donations to, but there is a paypal account set up in her name. Its listed in her MySpace page on one of the blogs... http://www.myspace.com/missscarlett13
I met Scarlett and her parents at a car show back in January. Sweet kid, nice people. I like to choose the causes I donate to... things like this or the Vacaville High metal shop fundraiser car show coming up. That one was great last year because the kid that put it on was a Senior at that high school, and the metal shop needed equipment. Supposedly its happening again this year.
