I use HoK for primer (KD2000) and color, using their acrylic lacquer system. I clear with Virtus high-solids 2K acrylic lacquer clear. (2 parts clear, 1 part hardener, ~10% RU311 reducer) From what I have read there does not seem to be pin striping paint that can be cleared with acrylic lacquer. Am I out of luck?
If it makes a difference, I am just painting r/c heli canopies (fiberglass) and car bodies (Lexan polycarbonate) so it does not need to stand up to the abuse a full-size car or truck might see. If the only issue is non-ideal adhesion can I get away with some HoK stripping enamels? Or will the clear crinkle? Or... ?

I cant tell Ya , I never used Hok , Bit I think Ya might be confused on what Yer calling it . this is the first i,ve ever hear ( high-solids 2 k & acrylic laquer ) used in the same sentence . Laquer will Melt most Plastics & does not mix or get along with any other Paints .
I recon anythings posible, But I dont think They are bringing acrylic laquer back Unless I just died & went to Heaven. lol . Hopefully Someone might know what You are talking about & pop in to help . CB
Not sure where Farrell is from, but I think it's the "across the pond" lingo....Lacquer is what they call Uros over there I do believe....
As CB said, real Lacquers are pretty much non existent these days.
Should be fine with the HOK striping enamel if you mix their hardener to it....Worked for me before.

Me in translation mode lol.........the terminology gets a bit confusing, it can be both called laquer (left over from the good all days), known as clear laquer, as well as occasionaly clear coat lol.........
With Dell on the assumption anyway so thats grand. Nope Uro's is still Uro's lol.........just goes up the Kyber when talking the sparkly shinny stuff lol................

The can of clear says Acrylic Lacquer and High Solids, it seems to be made in Italy and Coast Airbrush is one source for it here in the states. I use 276 (clear) + 277 (hardener)

Maybe it is labeled wrong or an incorrect translation?
As for the pin striping paint, I should use catalyst to made it resistant to the solvents in the clear? And I would use the HoK striping catalyst with the HoK striping paint, not the catalyst from my Virtus clear?

I'd go with the HOK for HOK.
