To begin,,, this was a portable sign with an "Flashing Arrow" on top,,,
the arrow was removed,, corogated faces replaced with flat panels,,
and the flat panels are what this thread consist of,,,
this was a few years back but I just ran across thes pics so thought I'd post,,,
what is basically involved here is drawing it off,,, cutting the entire design
with exacto,, and peeling and spray in segments leaving the backing paper
for a mask on the rest of the face,,, since each design is going to be different,,
your application may vary,, or be modified to fit your gameplan,,,
a "Basic" rule of thumb,,, PAINT FROM THE BOTTOM UP,,, or,,, the background
forward,,, this gives you the foreground with a sharp crisp edge to define it !!!
These pics are in progression I think with exception of the last one is first !!!
I'll thro these pics up and if any questions,,, I'll try to explain,, or confuse,,
whichever comes first:drowning: but bear in mind this app does'nt need to
be signage,, same app can work on simulated stain glass,, or other apps !!!

Opps,,, ran outta room,,, couple more to finish !!!
Oh,, I might add this particular sign was on wheels
making it a trailer,, we used it in local parades with
a portable generator !!!

Just noticed the finish pic is a tad small to see the finish piece detail,,,
here's a larger shot of the same first pic,, this was shot at night with
the sign lit as it would be in use,,, the actual face needs to go a lil
darker to show well with the backlight on,, so as a result it's a bit tricky
finding a comfortable medium between the light on at dark and daylight
viewing with no light on as backlighting,,, hope this is not confusing !!!
It was kind of an "Ego" thing for the shop,, to show the possibilities
and/or capabilities of the shop,,, so many times the customer is not
aware of what can be done,,, a sign can be SO much more than letters !!!

What i like most Whit is your design ability to make animals, objects, and things "jump forth" from the panel or background to the viewing forefront.....

Seems there is certain design elements that you explore to accomplish that, would you tell us more on that..?

hahahaha,,, no prob Jimmy,,, I'm just a fan of movement,,,
it can't move if it's flat,,, only way to get away from flat
is to break the borders,,, even if you have to have fake
borders to break,,, it just gives some movement to it,,,
sometimes you have to work in the customers format,,
sometimes you have free reign,,, that's when it's fun !!!
