This is a mural I painted in Dungloe, Co. Donegal, Where I live, It depicts the fair Days of old Ireland, I really enjoyed painting this.

Thanks Guys the fair day was a big event, where people met to buy animals and sell too, there was drink taken, which often led to all sorts of fun stuff.

Really like it done in B&W... makes me look at it as a whole rather than individually if in color! More impact in some ways, to me...

All the local people took great time in trying to find local characters in the picture, There is a scene where a couple are trying to elope and are aprehended by the girls angry father and uncle, I believe the local children were asked to write a story on what is going on in it, but I have not heard any of them yet.

What a great gift it would be to get copies of those stories!!! I love what kids come up with when they write. So you did make them look like actual people? Or generalizations that remind them of who they know? (every town has certain "types")

I love the characters you depicted and the overall atmosphere. Interesting to paint it in black and white, much like the conte kind of effect.
