Well, despite whatever may be in the future, (if we stay or what) I'm gonna post what I'm doing :D

So, a guy in skecthkult asked if I had ever seen Norwegian rose painting?, nope, so I searched, it's rose maling. Filed away some pics for references, started doing some pencil drawings, added color and decided this might fit on the old broken guitar. And before you ask, no I don't play lol! I tried but fingers won't cooperate on any chords !
I did a punch pattern of the basic back bone and put it on, then flipped it over and added another and then a lil to it.
Then lightly drew in the basic lines.
Here's the first color, just a straight reflex blue.

Now I'm an impatient painter~
but had a med blue already mixed and waiting.
So I added the second color.

In the first pic, you'll see the pic I used as reference on the right and don't let anyone tell you , you can't draw a pencil design first! Cuz I do it all the time! My sketch , in color on the left side.

So as to keep my fingers out of it, I'll let it sit til tomorrow. Other wise I would be in there mixing the next color and keep on going. Plus I can't do both sides at one time, I already have lines sketched on the other side, still unsure I like the lay out but now I have time to change.

so until tomorrow~ :wavey:

thanks skids, yeah it's kinda flowery, but hoping a not so much when I get done :)

It'll be friday before I get back to it, hubby's store is shorthanded and needs some stock and inventory help a few hours today, cash in my hand, but it's going to an outstanding dental bill, before they threaten me :/
Just gives me more time to think :D

I went ahead with what I had drawn, added more to back, that was fun balancing it so not to mess up front, but unless it rains this weekend, it'll be monday before I get back to it.

well I have to do some touching up on the front.
The blue stabillo doesn't come off well with water, so I have been using a lil alcohol to remove it, the lines on 3 designs rubbed off as well~ I cleaned the surface really well before painting with window cleaner, years of furniture polish needed to be removed I knew.
Oh well, just more practice.
yes I know about the other pencils, just haven't ordered any.
Ah life and it's unexpected problems~

thanks CB :)

kid behaving so far so I added , now it's drying again.
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a71/crbugs143/Artwork/th_g9.jpg (http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a71/crbugs143/Artwork/g9.jpg) That's Aqua on the 'stems', not white, leave it to the camera :/

Not used to doing these bigger pieces, one color at a time, set it off and let it dry. I do smaller ones all in one day, this is hard, I'm impatient!

Off to doodle some posters now~

You really may be onto something there Carlene. Used to do some work for a music store...cheap guitars yeah, he'd get em with dings and stuff and I'd patch them up and airbrush over, but you got a whole other thang here....How many guitars have you done?

(btw...still looks like a flower! HA!

Well Skids, it is a girl's guitar so, I guess flowery aint so bad~

it's the only one I have and have done. It's been covered in dust sitting by the fireplace for a few years needing something. Had it restrung, but 2 years later the neck cracked, and the face panel and back panel are separating. It's an el cheapo my dad got my mom some 35 yrs ago? She didn't play it much. I don't have the coordination for it either.

I'm gonna practice this style more on paper to fine tune it, make it more femine I think. Yeah, more flowery~ lol

Carlene...this is just an amazing one to me... love music so it strikes a chord (lol) but the way your lines wisp about it transcends and makes this a more emotional pin striping for me. Personal I know... but the whole package is just "right on the money" to me. I bet if ya could work up a site to personalize guitars and other instruments it would be quite the novelty.
