I think I did a better job on this until I tried the torn metal.

I have tried to get a deep red so it would kinda match the dark red on a gold wing. I can't get the rich color I want so I have ordered some black cherry for my next attempt. Maybe that will help.

Any and all comments welcome, I could use the help.

Thanks,

Clem

Hey Clem, I tried to get You a pic of a real brain for refence. So I hope this works. looks perty good though other than maybe the colors are a lil dark & the curves not quite squiggley enuff . Mebbe a lil bit a tan or tone,d down brown to set it off. . I hope this helps, Cowboy

Well after tryin to edit My post twice, What I meant is the color might be a tad dark & the squigly lines to straight. Maybe add some tan or light brown to make it look more realistic. Just a thought , Cowboy

Cowboy, you are making me rethink is whole thing. Really you are right, they call it gray matter.

I was trying to go with the Gold Wing red on my brothers bike but...

He left a helmet here. I have told him it may change if he leaves it here. Thinking of putting this on the very back. That is why the view from the rear not the side.

It will be a few months before I would be comfortable doing something to present to the public so I have time to work/practice on this.

May be going gray, we'll see.

Thanks for the help.

hey Clem, here's the link to my "brain matter" piece I did last fall. I took the idea from Cheap Tricks... and gave it my own spin. I used a yellow first as a base, then orange to vaguely define the shadows then red to finish the detail. The pure white highlights were added last. I'd suggest finding various hues of yellows, reds and oranges that you like and go from there. Hope this helps.

Hi Clem,

I think you're being too hard on yourself.
I think you should develop the torn metal...ya just sketched that part in...ya just have to paint in the details now.
You're going in the right direction.

Clem My opinion it looks great. just keep working on it.. I said it in another post alot of newbies get to a certain point then stop they don't keep going to add in the details So Clem keep going on the little stuff..

someone told me once....if you don't like it, then you haven't taken it far enough yet....
