Quality wise? HOK all the way...that said, Kustom Shop paints are good and are economical...they do offer a great color selection and they have a pretty decent shipping as well...I would say if your just starting out with urethanes, start with Kustom Shop...but when you are comfortable, and you do make the leap to HOK, you will be blown away! NO ONE MATCHES THEIR PRODUCT LINE!!!

when i moved from aa to uros i chose kustom shop. hok was a little was a little more expensive plus kustom comes pre mixed, which is nice when you don't have all the solvent proof crap you need. eventually i wil go hok but i am perfectly happy with kustom shop for now
hahaaa..Mob gets so excited when people ask about HOK...lol.....(Juss messing bud)
I'd say go with any cheap Uro you can find...Body shops often have a good supply of missed matched colors collecting dust...They'll give em away...In all my years of messing with Uro's, ones as good as the next.....House of kolor is fine, I use it if I need a kolor only they offer..But far as all the other hoopla, nahh just as good as any Uro......Use a reputable brand, do yer Prep and all right and ten years down the road nobody could tell you the diff between the cheap one and house of kolor.

I,ve gota agree with Dell . The only thing I,ll ad is it really depends on location & product support & supplyer . Which HOK sucks around here , allways has , Not to mention its twice as high as any other quality paints . I,ve used them all over the years .
I started out using all ditzler products untill they changed to PPG . Them my paint supplier dropped them & only dealt in dupont & glasurate .All of its Quality paints & as good as any other IMO . It also depends on the Quantity You are buying , I bought by the gallons .
Duponts stayed up with the rest as far as custom colors & sometimes have things others dont carry . I,m not saying its better , but just as good . It didn,t hurt I have used the same supplyer for over 40 years & get a great fleet discount on all their products because I bought so much .
Anyway just my 2 bits. Best of luck, do Yer own research according to yer location . Just remember the uro,s need far better safety equipment then what your used to using. CB

I love HOK pearls and candys. Solid colors can be anything for me, but pearls and candies have to be HOK....must admit I haven't tried kustom shop so no input there. I have used ALSA and reeeally liked it, but was even more expensive than HOK. ALSA makes a candy black thats really interesting!

I haven't used either of thier paints, but I've used HOK and Xotic clears, and just going by that, Xotic absolutely blows HoK away. I know you can't compare entire product lines based on one product, but you can usually at least get an indication.

HEY!! Is some one bashing HOK out there??? Ha, Ha...just kidding guys...
I've mellowed out in the past few months with regards my choice of paint lines and have to say that even though I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HOK...I have played around with some pretty good other brands and it really boils down to what you can afford and what YOU personally like to spray and are comfortable with.
...that said...HOK RULES!!!
Thanks alot guys! So HOK it is ! I just ordered the HOK Pro Kit from the TCP Global site. (top 40 colors + SG100 + Reducer)..
Let you know how they feel later..
Thanks again;
Rob

what's a good airbrush to use with HOK?
I was using a paasche vl but from the way it's been acting, & what I've read here, I must have damaged the seals by running urethane through it.
