Since I cannot use a urethane system in my place ,what water-based system(apart from Auto Air) would be good to use on metal and plastic surfaces??
Thanks;
Rob

Yup most waterbase would probably be fine on an Auto....cept the ones made for T-shirts and such.....But I only use em for Airbrushing, I wouldn't base anything in waterbase...Stuff's to weak in my book.

I use Goldens 99% of the time, strong, sprays nice, cheap, and holds up under Urethane clear coats like a champ.

Very interesting, I've only used AA and uros for automotive. I have a few Goldens I might have to try. MP

most acrylic type waterbased paints can be clearcoated ,they have a porous nature which allows the clearcoat to lock into them

if you have sufficiant physical bond to the substrate usualy primer they wont pull away from the substrate and as above the clear wont delaminate as it will lock into the acrylic

it is recomended to use as slow an activator as possible and as long a period as feasable between you first grab coat and your gloss coat to allow the clear to "aclimatise" to the acrylic
always make sure your paint is dry prior to clearing
no one particular brand should in theory be any better or worse than the next ,some acrylic paint manufacturers activly promote their products as suitable for automotive others dont ,however most will state thier products can be "varnished" or "cleared" much the same thing different terms
