Just wondering how one gets rated a "senior member" or "contributor". Is it by how long you've been a member? number of posts? how much (or if) you contributed to keep this site a float finacially?

There was a thread a few weeks back when a bunch of folks chipped in $$ to save the forum..They are "contributors"

To be a "Senior" is an all around good vibe for the forum, want to help, etc...You are asked if you wan to be a senior by staff.....Not the way it always was..Think some of the 1st original members were titled seniors too.

And the regular ole title you can change in user cp I believe.

As for being a senior, ya gotta know the handshake....ain't no musclin in on seniors, ain't no post count, can't buy your way in,... just the handshake.... a search on handshake customs may yeild some results.

you want the contributer badge, you can buy that in the Airbrushtech.info gift shop!

sorry Dell, we posted at the same time!

An excerpt from post #29 in this thread (http://www.airbrushtech.info/AIRBRUSH/forum/showthread.php?t=14898). "Purple people" refers to seniors.

Purple people are your mentors. Not necessarily for painting, but for participation in the forum. Turn to them for guidance and suggestions... a wing around your shoulder so to speak. They're the ones that have shown the most willingness to help others on the board and know the ropes due to their time spent in anger management classes with staff ;)

The Contributor badge was just something I came up with after the fact to give a little extra heads up and ackgowledgement to the people who helped keep this place running financially during the crisis.

Seems like you made a post in that thread about contributing draggin and explained that it would take a few days, but I never received anything which is why you don't have a Contributor rating under your name. If Paypal sucked it out of your account, they never forwarded it to me. You might want to check with them if you did indeed send it.

PM me with the transaction id and email address that you used to post it. There were a couple of people who posted that I initially couldn't associate with a user due to profile email addresses that didn't match the paypal email address. I solved those though. Currently there are no un-recognized transactions on the account. Everybody who has posted funds or sent it snail mail has the Contributor badge on their postbit. Hopefully you didn't stagger over to Steven's site and click on his link for funding the site, or your money's gone.
