Ok I did this lettiring with skulls then it came to outline (I Suck at)
I guess I need practice.. this box was a rust bucket so Hubby needs it for a job site in a few days figured rustolium would be the easiest way to go..rolled it on now I did the logo (kinda) on lid now he wants to put flames on side figured I would try real flames.. I'll post more pics friday..

Sharon, lettering is a bear, that's where a plotter can come it handy if you are not good and natural at it like some on here.
Looking forward to seeing the whole enchilada!

sharon, this is what i thought i was cheating at, just cut the outline in some i guess hard plastic material, i dont know what you would use for those paints, and spray in the lettering your design, im sure you already knew that, but i still your lettering design, you can wrap some flames around the letters to fix the letters you think you messed up, maybe this could help ya? build the flames from the letters?
I don't see anything wrong with what you have there. The only reason someone would know you didn't design the letters that way is because you keep mentioning that they are not what you wanted. The sculls will make folks think that is the design.
Only problem I see, depending on the work site, someone else may want it.
Thanks for posting, hope to see the finished project.

Print out teh letters and then transfer with transfer paper... Lettering is the The hardest to do. straight lines and spacing.. always use referance...

I really don't see anything wrong with the lettering, I like them in fact.
this is how I would aproach this if I couldnt do lines.
Cut out some strips of the required thikness and spray through masking the ends where needed.
Cut some ovals and overlap them to get the curves you want.
Havent done it but I think it should work.

That is great idea, and you can also print it on acetate, or a thicker paper to actually create a stencil by cutting the letters out. You can also use old Letraset to spray on top of for a negative image lettering.

I am terrible at lettering too so I really don't have any new ideas for you. I just wanted to say what you have posted looks pretty good and wanted to wish you good luck on the rest of the project...
