Design sizing Gone Lunatic

When I took the shirt I recently did off the board to try on I realized that the design was wider than I had intended. The size makes it kinda hard to read. Is there a rule of thimb as to design width or size for a given shirt size?

tim, I'd say it's the size of the person...take a scale, and hold it in front of your chest/abdomen...get a rough guage on what size you like on yourself....then center it. Viola.

Yep I will definetly do that onthe next one for me but was wondering as a general rule. That way if I get brave enough to do something for someone else I won't need to break out the tape. Although it might be fun to measure some people:love:

shes right , been in business going on 20 yrs. , a heat press, without it being over sized, the average is 15x15, i always stay within that for a simple design, not only a good size that looks good, but it saves times heat setting the items, the shirts dont have to be moved around to set the design.....start around 6 inches undr the neck of the garment.........
