my trigger is comming back up slow?? when I'm painting I push down pull back but when I let go trigger comes forward to stop paint but comes up slow ,I can drag the brush about 6" after letting go of it.. and air keeps comming out
it seem like the piston on the hose connection is gunked up but I can''t figure out how to get in there to clean it. does anyone have any Ideas how to clean it Iawata hp c

Hey Sharon...the valve body screws off...It'd be the next set of threads above where yer hose screws on....Take that off..You'll see a little metal stem sticking up...works like a plunger type deal...Put a dab of lube on it and press it a few times..Should be all set....My HP-SB likes to do the same thing...Hope that helps

Thanks ABD I'll go try it I'm in the middle of doing flames just came in for a break.. thanks again
ooops forgot....There's a stem on the valve body that springs...(What i mentioned above)...But there's also one in yer AB...right in the hole where the valve goes that you just took out...It's real small and slides in a rubber O ring...That's what yer trigger makes contact with...Make sure to lube that lil guy...Probably more at fault than the other thing i mentioned

Im waitin on a response too. I wanna see this one! It looks like there is a seam but Im not sure how you would get it apart without crushin the threads. I just looked at my BCS and it looks the same.

Shoot Sharon, Thought most Iwatas had that part that unscrews....does that little peg in the middle move with the trigger?...Could try lubin it and working in/out.
I'm not 100% sure..I think i did this with an older Badger er one of my many old AB's...Those two little slots on both sides of the peg....If you can get something in there, i think that piece will unscrew, Using the slots for leverage points..But I'd hate to stear ya wrong....Might wanna wait for some experts on this.. ...It's been so long since i've tackled something that resembles that...

Don't know if you saw this thread?....Probably wont help to quickly...but maybe PM her and hope she gets it sooner rather than later..

sharon, sorry i dont know too much about that gun, but i have a question about it, im looking to purchase the fine line micro iwata series gun, and im wondering how do you change colors since the color cup is attached to the top of the gun? you have to stop and take it to the sink everytime you switch colors and take it apart?

i continuously have that problem and i'm so used to it now that it's second nature to manually pull up the trigger when i let up, i don't even think about it anymore,
i have taken it apart and lubed it in the past but the lube eventually dries out and it starts sticking again, i wonder if it's from solvants getting on that rubber ring and causing it to swell, my solvants get everywhere......

That's exactly my situation and take on it....Hmmm? So what's the answer?..An O ring that swells less..Or better lube?...All perverted jokes aside:partyalone:
I've tried Various lubes to no avail..(hahaa, it's getting worse),..But I always have to reapply after any strenuous use......(OK, Maybe now it's on purpose)..
Seriously though...Nobody likes a sticky Trigger:D ...The fact that you got used to yours Jason,Hmmmm??.:Infrandom: haha!...I don't know what that means either..I just laughed at myself.

with excessive tip dry, you can blow through the rear o-ring, causing paint to build up where it shouldn't.
The HP-C has a pin that enacts the airpressure...take the pin out (use fine tweezers)...clean the area with an old paint brush THROUGHLY with something like Airbrush restorer (takes care of old paint build up) and flush with water...and replace the pin. Maybe lube it before you put it back...? Should work great then.

Or, do what I do, throw it on the floor, say magic foo foo words, and stomp it flat, get on the phone to Dixie, and order a new one! Therapy is a wonderful thing......(jk)

I'll try it seems like a few of you said remove pin so I'll let you know what happens. Jason I thought of getting use to it but I'm doing real flames and having the hardest time adjusting at the top of the flame I keep over shooting so they keep getting longer if all else fails I can use my old single action badger ( good old life saver))
xz I had a few brushes and I love the iawata hp c but I really haven't tried the other upgraded ones but I get great fine lines by takeing the tip cap off,, as for cleaning I have a 5 gallon bucket and a spray bottle with the ab cleaner i'll spray it out of the airbrush till its clear comming out...

yep, i got the pin out just like you show, i even polished the pin before i lubed it an re-assembled, it worked for about a day, i've had two of them do this to me, i've even polished the trigger pin at the bottom of the trigger piece, and i've even got so mad and went out and got a new ab like whit said but 3 months into the new one, again

So I take it theres no hope for my old faithful.. well finished my flames with alot af swearing,.. and over spray had to go and cover some spots in black thank god this isn't someones bike..
I don't know the specs on the Hp-c compared to my Hp-Sb?....Needle size and whatnot. Or the difference in models made by years?..Mine has to be 4-6yrs old??..But as i mentioned on mine it's real easy to lube that spot...Unscrew the valve body, Pop out the trigger and little pin....That PITA O ring is right there in plain view...Run a pipe cleaner threw it (straight shot) ..Lube and reassemble.
There has to be other Iwatas with that design?...Means buying a different brush just to be able to lube a ring..(would suck).
Being the only Iwata i've owned..I woulda never known the others don't tare down like that.....So i guess i learned something from yer misfortune Sharon..Thank ya:clapping2:
