of 1 shot are in my system again
Guy on the baja is dealing with extra work this week , won't be over here, so I finally got my brain wrapped on my trade project.

The 2 samples I have to go by~
He sent me a rubbing of a real tag so I could get the letters correct plus the details on the end.

I mixed bright red 2/3 with 1/3 maroon, and since I'm not using an actually lettering brush, it's not an even coverage, so I have to go back over again today, may add just a drop more maroon to darken it abit. Owner said the real color is between the 2 samples above.
Doing the other lettering today and the badge area (he has the real badge for that spot too! But I am making this similiar to what Ray Smith does. I love doing 3d work !
Also putting their name in script on the door and I may sneak some dagger lines inside the door. Included in the trade is some garage art, a metal sign, will start on that today too~ VW related of course :headbang:
But it's so nice to be inhaling 1shot fumes again!
more pics later~

Thanks Moose.
Jaranson had mentioned it in another site, sent me the link. I saved it last night, is cool and close to what I am doing. It has given me a few ideas too :D
I got the small letters on yesterday, after I recoated the others. At least the bobbo is still good for line work :/ Will use it for highlighting too. Wish I have more long liner brush though. WE lost our craft store about 5 yrs ago.
oh well~
couple pics~

I hope to clean up the edges when do the shading. but I'm also trying to keep in mine, it's supposed to be stamped steel, so should be 'not crisp' lol!

got to dig out the chopped green mack I have~ haven't used it in well over a year but it's for long straight lines. I had to wobble to make it a bit stamped looking.
gauged the overall size and did an outline.
used 1/4" tape.

hopefully chicken soup tonight will help, but I'm done for today.
Next time I have to do this, I'm going with my airbrush! I'd have been done monday!

Thought about putting a drop shadow under, but I think it being so small, it would just be over kill. As it is, I used my chopped mack upside down to get these fine shade lines.
All for today~ :wavey:

Fantastic!!
I love the style of mailboxes over there! I think if we had them over here like that they would be stolen for sure....some kids here blow up your mailbox for fun :\
Anyone would be proud to have that in front of their home!
By the way your pinhead lounge page is just mind boggling....do you sleep?? :D

sc66, lol yes I sleep, it's difficult sometimes but yes, I try! lol!
thie boxes here sometimes get smasshed. kids or punks drive by with a baseball bat and hit them. This one is made of thick heavy steel plate, it weighs 20lbs! The bat will rebound and the hitter may break his arm depending on how fast they are passing in a car lol! And this box is on a stand with 3 other boxes, it's first in line, it'll be the protector for the others > : )
Thanks for looking at my PHL page :wavey:

Ah yes, revenge is sweet!! my hubby works in the steel industry and once our letter box was kicked down by kids and he decided to replace the post with steel 1/2" thick square tube, concreted it into the ground and painted it to look like timber, we moved not long after that and heaven help any kid who thought to kick it down again!! They wouldve broken their foot for sure :D
