View Full Version : Full size helicopter
I hired a helicopter last year so I could take aerial fotos for the project I am working on and I need to hire it again so I called him.
Well during the conversation it came out that I am airbrushing, he asked what I paint, I said pinups mainly but would try anything.
He is taking delivery of a new Heli soon and might be interested in having a pinup painted on both sides, I have just sent him samples of my work.
Any body done a helicopter ?
Can you give me some tips before I have the next conversation with him?
What paint would be best ? (I,m thinking one shot. then no clear needed)
I just want to be prepared in case he does go for it.
The guy is loaded big time, the heli is just a hobby.

The 1-shot will work great,,, but,,,
to not end up with dry spots in your
paint it will have to be a wet on wet
application,,, hard to do unless you
can do before your paint sets,,,
otherwise you're gonna need a clearcoat
of some kind !!!
Good Luck on it,,, sounds like an interesting
project,,, be sure to post pics !!!:partyalone:

hey frog, sounds cool, i've done a pinup on the nose of an airplane and i'm pretty sure they're made from the same stuff.....aluminum, i was fortunate to be able to take the pieces off and back to my studio, unless you'll be clearing it you'll have to use the one shot
good luck with the project

Wow, Frog, cool sounding project, I would love to see a step by step on that one. I would think scuff and use any uro's you want, then clearcoat,no?
Have fun!

Here's the website for the project (http://www.costablancasetfair.com/) click on brochure.
The guy I have been setting this whole thing up for wanted aerial photos (he's a bit weird) so I got them.We had a great time flying around in a very cool heliwopper, didnt use the photos in the end.
We have set up the development company, and got all the permisions etc and are now ready to build.
Just heard today we have a meeting on Friday with a very rich guy who might buy the whole company, project and all which would be sooooooo cool. We are looking at a lot of money mmmmm well the owner is LOL. But it means I get one hell of a bonus if it comes off and I dont have to manage the builds.
Sorry more than you asked for but I,m all excited about the Friday meeting, today has just been a total blur.
