Hi folks, I am still recovering after St Patricks day, Just finished this painting, Is the face too dark? Up close it dosent seem too bad, but then when i look at it from a distance, it looks too dark? Have I overdone it?

She looks African American to me, so if that is what you were going for, GREAT!

I'm kinda having trouble figuring out your question. I think it is natural to see detail up close and not from a distance.

Looks good, looks kinda right to me.

That affect was achived by spraying through a piece of net curtain, its a good way of getting patterns.

For other "textures" look take a trip to your well stocked artists supply store (craft stores won't generally cut it) there are a number of papers that are amazing...and instant texture when you spray through it.
