This was done for a local music conductor's briefcase - a little inspirational emblem:

33626
Annealed, then hand engraved the copper, cleaned it with acetone, then masked off hands, baton and notes with plotter-cut Oramask 813.
Pulverized blue-green glass (washed 5+ times to get rid of oil).
Mixed glass with gum arabic, then painted it onto unmasked areas.
Fired at 1450 degrees (standard Limoges-style glass enameling technique).
Holes drilled, mounted onto briefcase.
(Penny to indicate scale).

(will try almost anything 2 or 3 times, or until stopped)

How in the heck do you get that much detail on that scale Bob? I'd go blind trying to do stuff on the scale you're doing it at. Crazy cool stuff.

After some of the stuff you've posted it wouldn't surprise me if you posted a pic of the Preamble to the Constitution of the United States engraved on a grain of rice.

Many thanks, Tracy and Ron - I like the grain of rice idea...maybe organic brown rice with give a parchment look...

I grew up in a small house, shared room - probably accounts for tolerance of and fascination with tight spaces.

Best regards, Bob
