The kodak easyshare cameras are nice little setups. Lexmark has a 3 in 1 printe scanner fax machine. I think I payed around 50 for mine. Easy software to install and use for cleaning up photos and has a photo album file to store your pics in. Hope this helps ya.

I've got the Kodak "Easy Share" as well,,,
nice lil camera,, but,, Don't use the Software
that comes with it,,, it takes over your puter !!!
Mine has the battery recharge station as well !!!
Those 3 in 1's are good for my purposes and
I'm just using the office 3 in 1 (no card reader)
and camera just plugs into USB for easy unload
right into the puter,, I need the simple things !!!
Good Luck on which way you go on this,,,
there's a lotta good models out there to choose
from !!!

I agree with whit on the kodak software after you install it go back in and uncheck the use this for all photo. I use the microsoft for unloading stuff straight to my pic files. And yes they come with the cables. Make sure the printer comes with both inks mine only came with black.

I have had an HP 3in1 (model 2175)for a while now and am very happy with it. It comes boxed with every thing you need and the software is very user friendly. You can even drop in a secondary color cartridge for printing photos. I think the C4180 is the equivalent of what I got but it's a better machine and costs less than what I paid. The memory cards will plug right into the printer and can be viewed and fixed up a bit on the PC or you can print them straight away. The HP has a slot for 4x6 photo paper that is handy to use also.

As far as cameras go for snap shots the main thing is the batteries and how long they last. My wife has a Casio that has a docking station that charges the battery (lithium) and will take hundreds of photos depending on the flash usage. The camera does not have a normal view finder though and you have to use the lcd screen that can't be seen in strong sunlight. Casio does have them with the both. My daughter has a Samsung that uses AA batteries and we spent another 30 bucks for rechargable ones. It seems like you have to swap out the batteries quite often and always keep charged spares around.

I hope this helps as most of the printers and cameras now days offer similar features at very reasonable prices. But there are a few things that still make a difference.

The hpc 1200 series 3 in 1 printers a good too. No memory card readers and walmart sells them for 49. I have several differant printer/scanner setups. I have a high end michrotech scanner that is for proffessional photograghy use. a dell 3 in one set up that is hooked to my home pc. and a lexmark 3 in one thats hooked to my lap top. If you already have a printer you can just buy a scanner for half the price.

I use the Kodak easyshare Cam also....Had it about 3 yrs now i think....Been dropped, rained on, beat pretty good and still kickin.

I used the software that comes with it right up till recently....I loved it, easy to use..Lil bit of editing stuff in there....Only reason i don't use it now, I just upgraded to Adobe programs that came with my Tablet..Don't have much use for the ole kodak stuff anymore.

...Ohhh except for one thing...The kodak stuff has an option that takes yer picture and converts it into a B/W outline...Great way for an instant stencil...I still go back and use that from time to time. Comes in handy..

Never used a scanner so i can't help ya there...Good luck Cowboy

Whit, how do I disengage the Easy Share Software? I noticed what you are saying. It is a good camera. I got mine on a Black Friday Sale.

I got a HP Photosmart C6150 All-in-One becuase the DPI in both scanning and priniting are penomenal, plus it has a 6 color cartridge so that you get all the hues and values. I also have the Kodak docking station, but it only prints small pics.

Thanks to all for the info. I was told that was the only bad thing about easyshare was the software & was told to stay away from it. But I may now rethink that after what You all have said . Cuz I really need simple. & I have 2 perty high dollar cameras For My Really important pics. & I can get them put on disk rather cheap. Thanks again. Cowboy

Hey Cowboy...I'm not sure what the others meant by "taking over yer computer"?....Or the other bad stuff you heard from people about the software?

I just see no such issue with mine....My little icon sits there on my desktop and only comes on when i click it....When i used it as my main Photo transfer source.. It would come alive when i plugged my Camera in....Transfered the photos in like 10-20 secs..all done...Shut it back off if ya want?

I know when you have a pic saved in some other folder on yer computer..when you click the pic it will open it with the Kodak stuff....Gives you a choice to "add to collection"..(Meaning yer kodak collection)....That's the only time it pops up when i wasn't expecting it to...Makes sense though, looking at a pic using yer new photo software.

Course, I shut off all auto updates..Didn't sign up for the photo album option on the kodak website...I just keep the basic transfer stuff running....I have zero complaints with the whole setup....Although i may not know a bad thing if i saw it??..Not the most computer savvy Cat on the block!

Anywho just trying to slip ya some more info from the other side of the fence:partyalone:
