Shadow, that is fantastic. I may not be qualified to critiqe any one elses work but was the right eye in the reference pic that dark? To me the painting is fantastic except for that eye.

Bill you are qualified to say as you see it bud and I value everyones points of view,Tracy I do like what people have to say about my work good or bad at least on this forum people are commenting on my work. So please do not shy away from what you see and make your comments it is all good,a wee bit behind the painting I was going for soft look with this but wanted a hard contrast. I thought about the eyes but went for that look the idea being that they would draw your eyes to them and then her mouth next then the flow of her hair into the white background. I think I pulled it off I have posted this on other forums and on one where no one would comment on my work this painting was the one that made people comment and all of them commented on her eyes. Yep I could have left her eyes softer and her mouth I could have made her hair darker if I did would anyone have commented on her eyes lips, or hair? I think I got what I wanted from this work and the comments have been great and I look forward to your comments on any and all the things that I post. A wise man (You DELL and yes I am calling you wise LOL) told me "If you see somthing that don't look right then say, don'you dare keep quiet" and for me that is words of wisdom and I will echo them. A long assed answer but I wanted to say what I was going for with this and also Bill,Tracy I do value your comments and thank you both for them RUSS
Strange as it is Russ,,,
I had an entirely diff intro this week planned,,,
this was posted,, then the "Outside The Box"
became relevant,,, this is a Great Example of
Outside the Box Thinking,,, Funny Thing here,,,
Everyone's right,,, The hard color only amplifies
the eyes making the softness stand out in the
surrounding areas,,, personally,,, I'm Likin It !!!
But,,, just so's the other intro don't go to waste,,,
I'll thro it here minus the rhyme,,, this time,,,
you'll just have to make up your own puns !!!
Have a Great Week Everbody !!!

im to embarrased to post mine up.....so I wont.
HR,,, wrong attitude there,,, this is NOT a "Juried" Art Show,,,
this is merely for members to post their work,, for other members,,,
look at it this way,,, "Archives",,, come back in a month,, year,,
and see how you've progressed,, these shows show other members
where you are,, where they are,, with no judgments,, just posted Art,,,
We All Start Someplace,,, Don't Be Intimidated,,, Post Your Work !!!
Some Great Work Posted Here This Week,,, Great Show !!!
My shot this week,,, aftermarket add for a dealership,, again,, an oldie...

Come on Highrisk, go ahead and post em. You should see some of the paintings I posted a year or so ago. Bad stuff compaired to most you see here. I don't think anyone said anything bad about them. They only told me how to improve.
Come on, I triple dog dare you. LOL

Can you tell who this is? I think I have far improved this week on skin! I love this. The first thing I have done that I love! I still have to fix the upper right corner and put some white space so her hair doesn't look so big on that side.
It is darker than the pic shows. I used my Evo phone to take the pictures.

See Highrisk, that wasn't so hard. I knew you couldn't turn away from a triple dog dare. LOL The skulls look great. Now keep on posting. By the way, how long have you been airbrushing? I started a year and a half ago. I did alot on cloth for about a year. Was hesitant about going to hard surfaces untill Dell called me a scaredy cat. All I needed was a good kick in the butt to do it.

, how long have you been airbrushing? l
I brushed off and on about 15 years ago for 3 or 4 years. Never took it serious. When I picked up the brush again in 09 I had to relearn everything. I stopped for a while in 2010 due to a family member and I started back up in sep ( i think) so I guess its been about a year give or take a few months. At the start of the new year I decided to take airbrushing seriously. Trying to build a company.....

Comin on nicely shesakura, might be wrong is it Jennifer
shesakura
01-22-2011, 09:22 PM
Angela is my name :) I did project it. Since I am not trying to learn to draw I just projected it to get on to the air brushing. I can draw it just as good but it would take me a long time :) I have the next one going already. I made a mistake on this one so I have to correct it then keep on working. I might have it done to put up tomorrow on here.

Hey All,
Shesakura, Katy Perry was my first thought when I saw your photos, and that was before you'd put the dark hair in. Put us out of our msiery...
HR, like those skulls - looking good.
This is what I've been up to this week. A customer wanted the eagle from the cover of the Saxon album 'Wheels of Steel' along the top of the jacket and 'Live To Rock' along the bottom. He then changed his mind and went for just the eagle. I might be being overly cautious here but without the wording along the bottom it just looks like a Wehrmacht eagle, which might be open to misinterpretation.
The jacket is a real motorcycle jacket not the Brando style people usually send me to paint so there are pads and stitching across the shoulders which wasn't too fun to try to get the stencil down on. Still, got there in the end - here's a photo of the work and the album cover for ayone not too familair with it.
3491934920
It looks like the flash has washed out most of the shading I did on the eagle.

When I reread you post I realized you meant Jennifer in the picture :) It is Katy Perry. The skin tone i got off of a web search. It was...
I used createx:
1/2 oz white
6 drops sand (light brown)-transparent
3 drops bright red-transparent
5 drops bright yellow-transparent
For the cheeks I just threw some paint together to make them pinker. I am going to have to watch what I am mixing and make a cheat sheet for the future.

Thought I would get this in this week and the finished product next week. Any guesses as to who it is? I have to fix and color the lips, fix one jaw line and add a touch more shadow. Once again, my phone muted the colors... going to have to dig out my better camera. Jacket isn't done.
Tom cruise? Great job on the eyes and nose...Noses are always hard to do I think.

ABD I really liked your old car in the woods!
I really like this a lot! It has a Tim Burton quality to it. That's the only way I can put my finger on it. If you keep it at this stage it is still finished in that respect for me.
Great work!

Thanks much Rick!....I can see the Tim burton vibe for sure....Someone already fell in love with this one and bought it as is..haha...Just have to clear coat it now.... I never know when to call things done, but if someone is happy and wants what they see, who am I to argue right..lol
