Hee Hee, I'm real excited!!! As some of you know, I am dying to learn how to stripe and have had a terrible time finding anywhere or anyone to teach me the basics ( I'm a better learner if I see it first hand)

On the occassional weekend hubby and I hang at a rodders workshop....anyways, a very nice man, a signwriter, was there this week and we saw some of his striping work he'd just done on a tank for a custom bobber being built there....I said "I sooooo want to learn to do that" and he replied "here's my card" Made the call today, and guess where I'll be on Friday??? :party-smiley-052: WooHoo! Will keep you posted and post my progress....good or bad :)

Yep, went for my "lesson" but my forgot my camera! True story! another true story is took some pics on my phone, but it won't upload to computer! Aaargh! Anyways learnt how to get paint to right consistency, brush cleaning etc....laid down some lines...the guy was actually shocked at how straight the long lines were! curves/spirals however, were another story :D...my biggest problem is from being a "hairybrush" painter, is I tend to lean the striping brush over.....gotta retrain my brain! :lol:

Anyways, i bought two brushes and a tin of black lettering enamel that very afternoon, and will begin practicing in the next few days! kids go back to school tuesday!

Practice practice practice until i see stripes in my sleep!!!

Good Show,,,
in the 50's,,, stripes were king,,, ruined me for life when
I found there was $$$ involved in simple artwork,,, and fun,,,
got me on the road to ruin (hahahaha),,, I could pick up a
couple of hundred in a weekend of hard playin,, and in the 50's,,,
for a 17 year old,,, dangerous to say the least,,, serious money !!!
You're gonna have fun with this,,, just practice,, practice !!!
