Im starting to make demo pieces for my customers, display pieces is more like it. I typically just stripe stuff but never have nothing to display for. so the time i have in the house or at night, im starting to do pieces like this.. its on aluminum and my lines are excessive thin, i'll try to get a better pic off my 35mm cam soon. do apologize for sorry resolution at the present moment. any comments.

Pinwerk,
I hope you dont take this response as being negative because it is NOT meant to be.
Your color combinations are very good and line thickness is quite consistant throughout the piece. Maintaining an even line thickness is very difficult to execute successfully. Symmetry in pinstripe pieces is all important and yours is well done.
I do not know how long you have been doing pinstriping but if fairly new at it you have quite a talent for pinstriping.
The only suggestion I will make is this - the pink diamonds need to be a bit more symmetrical.
Overall - a very nice piece and I hope it helps promote business. :clapping2:

umm i really dont know how to take this response... one minute im one way n the next minute im the next. actually im new at it but not so new at it.. i am new at creatin pieces from scratch like this tho, configuring things what makes it flow with the one below it n so forth. dont know if its the demo pieces or my car , that is makin the business but i just had two trucks roll up today, im in middle of striping one now from the front to back.. as all in all, its paying more money than i ever thought it would be. evidently customers are definitlly digging it. they dont mind throwin the money at my feet, i'd pick up a brush n start brushin any day.. i thank you for your comment.
it is hard to make consistent lines. i strive every time i pick up a mack, if its wavy or not perfect. i start wiping n restart over. i dont bat an eye at wipin it n redoin it ...
its all good tho, i respect your response.. im quiet a newbie at everything i do. just gatherin all i can and turning it all around into my own creation....

Candi,
What brush are you using for the scroll work? I just picked up a Kafka and Mack Bobbo to play with scroll work.

Tim, I have a small assortment of Mack scroll brushes, and I am very disappointed to report, they didn't come pre-loaded with nice scrolls. Might just as well have a popsicle stick in my hand, lol.....

Scott they are preloaded but you have to know how to hold your tongue just right for the preload to come out.
But remember is is just like electric parts. The last thing that goes into an electric part at the factory is smoke. Let the smoke out gotta go back to the factory for more smoke.
So don't let the scrolles out too fast!!!

hey there, thanks on the comments, as i look at the demo piece n from the very first time.. just a short period of time. i have progressed alot... more than what i really expected to be...
the brush i use is more li ke brushes, on this piece, i for the stripes used jenson swirly q 2, typically on a vehicle i'd use a mack blue squirrel 000 striper, but this i used a jenson swirly q and the feathers thats in green n purple n red at bottom i used a mack gray quin, the ones at the top i used a kafka 3 scroll brush.. i think i used all of my brushes on this piece just to try get the feel of the kafka and mack quin, im having issues with those.. but the mack quin gray brush i can do the feathers with ease with it. strill tryin conquer circles with it li ke wizard does.. but for some reason my mack blue squirrel striper , i can twirl it in circles over the scroll brushes.. still scratchin head on that one..
i really like to get a kafka scroll brush a smaller size than the no 3 i have.. its just little big for my taste.. for some reason i keep going back to my mack blue striper 000 over them all... but i am favoring the jenson swirly q the more im using it...
trying to find your own designs comes hard since so many copies others, im trying find my cliche with what colors i like going with each other, how to make the piece overall flow from top to bottom and study on it and go with ideas that pops in my head.. going do a couple more of these... see how they turn out..

Candi,
If you find that the Jensen is "your" brush you may want to stock up. I hear they are going to discontinue them..... The kafka and that style brush have a learning curve to them. It takes a different thinness of the paint for them to work properly. I still have not got it down yet myself.

well i took a break. like i did the reflex blue first . let it dry and come back the next day to do magenta , green n purple/red. im guessing around an hour total.. but i took my time with this, plus gettin up going to the kitchen n bathroom n etc... if i did it straight no time out. prob 35-45 minutes if that. i m guessin i'll have to time myself next time to see.. prob take me 20 min n here im saying its 35-45.. let me time myself next time just to make sure..

I don't know anything about striping and seeing them do it on tv makes me dizzy with their steadiness and precision. I think this is my first trip into this section and was happy to see your work here. I really like it and this design you came up with. Kudos to you, nice work.

thanks Mob, the more you fool with the brush - the faster u can also.
thats like i got a scroll brush just to do circles.. well the more i praticed with that brush and went back to the ole mack striper brush . i found myself turnin circles with the mack brush i was using to pull stripes. go figure. somebody once told me, "i'd seen some guys use all kinds of brushes, but why not do it all with the mack brush your pulling stripes. you'll have the same width on the line throughout it all"
well i forget who the guy was that said that but it seem to stick in my head. you may want to try the excalibur brushes they are shorter and made for short hands. i have short hands but im diggin the macks instead. it may help out n become easier on you. it can't hurt to try one. just some people favors them more. laters
