And looks much better! By taking on only one at a time, you learn muscle control for just that brush. Switching around only takes longer to memorize movements :)
Back to work with ya now~~~

Cheers Carlene, its the hold for this brush I keep tweaking to get it to suit, seems to have fallen into a half pencil hold lol, as the brush is small in my hand, if I try the either side grip and to use the other 3 fingers as a support, just can't get it close enough to the substrate ha ha, so it seems to have developed a compromised grip.

Short session today, some drills and an other go at a design from yesterday.

That's looking MUCH better!
And that's the things with the scrollers, holding them more like you are drawing with it. And no twisting involved!
I'm betting once you get this one all settled in, and then try the sword? You'll go back to the scroller. Just less involved. I got frustrated with swords, couldn't make the turns in one sweep like I wanted, but they are great for long straight lines though.

Back to work :D
(yes, I'm a pest :P )

Yep, that's another secret I didn't let on about cardstock, if you screw up, it's start over! I have dozens of posters that went wrong and I actually cleaned my brush off on them, rinsed it out and walked away lol!
Come on Tracy, open that can! LOL!

Looking good Andy!

Now, question, do you have any clear paint? If this card stock is decently thick, experiment with a piece and see how it holds up when cleared. If it stays flat, even if it tries to roll on the corners , it'll be ok. Clip it to something solid . I clip my posters to a boogered up piece of plexiglass. Then draw your grid, and have a go again. Your card stock appears a bit toothy, alot more than our regular posterboard we have. It's fine paper like on one side and extra smooth on the other. As kids we hated it since we couldn't draw on it.

Just something to try to graduate up to smoother painted surfaces. :)

Have been thinking that myself, hell of a tooth on it. Need to have a look around.

Actually just remembered, rooted around in my supply closet and have found I have 1 composite powder coated black Aluminium pannel, so stripe and wipe time.
