Evil skully dudes
Great now the scooby doo song is stuck in my head..Thanks Mike!
Guy finally came and got the Wheeler/lid...kinda half ass sunny, daylight lookin anyway...He liked it so much he gave me a $50 tip..WoooHoooo!
Also did these HD tins in flat black....Never again will I use Xtreme flat clearcoat....Horrible, Dude insisted on clear coat...Says on the can "wet coats will add gloss, spray dry even coats to prevent glossy spots....Damn Bed Liner would have looked better than this crap..hahaa

Yeuchhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
Yeuchhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
haha, i dunno what to do with it..sure the guy wasnt expecting a bumpy surface..It's the only way the stuff would go "flat" though...have heard the trick of sanding smooth with 2000 then shooting reducer over it to melt the scratches away...but if it doesn't work? hmmmm lol...maybe he'll like it this way, know I'd prefer the good ole jon deer single stage..no clear, but looks 100% better.

Think you can get a flattening agent for a standard clear then play as normal.

I've got a tin of HS acylic clear matt here, but not had chance to play with it yet. Have been wondering how you should apply it; I'll have to have a word with the tech guys about it. Dell, I bet you coulda got a powdercoat on those and far less trouble then all the paint?

Noo clue, hate powder coat though..lol this stuff was like water, mix 5:1 sprayed nice, coulda made it nice and smooth, but it glosses when i tried. (even waiting for it to flash off, held gloss) .only way to get it half ass matte looking was to fog it on...was thinking i could sand this smooth, then shoot some more but reduced..but it'll go on wet then and probably not as matte lookin...

does sound like a nightmare mate; watery paint that you have to mist on. Sounds impossible to me. Or at least it would take all day to build up! Sounds like you've gotta stick to the ratios but take your time and apply in piles of light coats, not like conventional clear technique

The bike is looking smart Carlos

Shoot missed some posts here.....was looking into that, figured the flat clear would be the way to go, but maybe not..lol
Bike came out slick Carlos!

well, I had a look at my tin of matt hs clear. Its a 4:1 ratio, but its not a true matt, 20% gloss satin sheen to it. Still dont know how to apply it though
All, some killer looking work this week! Dell, I shot the pinup bike with 'Hot Rod Flatz' flatted clear.. put it on wet, and walked away from it. Overnight I had a smooth flat finish... I don't like the idea of building up dry coats.. for the very reason you are talking about.. rough texture, and possibility of adhesion issues.
well the guy came and had a look at it just now...Gave him some options, diff clear or paint and such, but he loved it as is..(go figure)...gave him every chance to let me do something diff, he was insistent he loved it, handed me the beans and walked away all smiley..haha

Actually wa trying to think what it reminded me of, Yami brought out a finish on the engines and casings on one of the Star ranges it actually worked miked with the chrome because the finish was "uneven", when the light hit it, it kept changing the patterns. Looked as though had just been slapped on with a paint brush
