So, my air brush was working fine, after a couple days pulled it out again. And it ran water through fine... But wouldn't shoot out gac 900. So I ran cleaner through it and all that still wouldnt work. Took most of it apart and cleaned it all and still wouldn't work. (btw first time taking apart my gun)

but now.... It's not shooting water out right either... its no longer a smooth spray it does that jumpy thing (spray stop spray stop spray), but only when water goes through it. Not just with air....

any help guys ? Thanks!

I take it that is the siphon feed airbrush. I have an old VL that would do that when I wasn't getting a good seat from the bottles, was getting an air leak and the low pressure made it impossible to spray right. MP

it's weird it JUST started doing that, it was perfect before.
I was mostly wondering if anyone knew any little tricks on how to put it together to make it work like it used to!

:'(
like the needle for example... does it get pushed all the way through or should I hold it back like half a millimeter before tightening it in.... or anything silly like that :\

Thanks again to those who help :)

Wow, push it in gently until it seats and then tighten the locking nut. Don't force anything.. you will be able to tell when it bottoms out.

If your unsure, go to any Iwata retailor web site and you should be able to pull up the Iwata parts page and the whole breakdown of the brush is there for you. Like Norm said, if press to hard you can damage both the needle and fluid nozzle, pretty expensive mistake. MP

You forgot to tell him to push down on the trigger before you seat the needle all the way in. Sounds like he has a clogged tip. I could show you how to tear down your brush but im sure you already know. Easy fix.

P.S. Make sure your tip is straight before it goes back into the brush. Just find something hard and flat to straighten the needle back out. Ive used top of the toilet. marble counter top a piece of smooth ceramic tile, a mirror, my ex girlfriends flat head...lol... If its bent. Id show you how to fix this but I'm sure you already know this.

:angry-smiley-030:  I definitely think I need to give it a good soak in something and buy a better cleaning tool. I had brought it down to my parents place in a different city for something to do. haha.

And from what I can see everything is still in perfect order, with no un usual looking peices. =\ I'll give you guys the update on thursday or friday if I managed to fix it or not grrrr.

ps. I'm female! haha, hard to tell from the user name I suppose. :)

If it is a siphon feed that uses a bottle, make sure the little vent hole in the bottle cap is clear. If it gets clogged you'll get spurting as the vacuum builds up inside the bottle.

Flip the brush over and look into where the bottle tube goes. Make sure that there is nothing obstructing the hole. Clean any paint out of there because when you push the tube in it can push paint up and block the feed. When seating the needle push it in all the way and give it a gentle turn. Dont over tighten the tip or nozzle but make sure it has a good seal or it wont be able to pull enough air and draw paint from the siphon. As bigwater said also make sure the bleeder hole in the top of the bottle is not plugged. Not saying you dont know but it is the tiny hole just off center. If it is plugged it will build the pressure and iff it dosnt come spraying out that hole when it gets enough pressure it will blow out the siphon tube like a volcano when you pull the bottle off the airbrush. To clean the nozzle I use a sharpened toothpick. Insert and gently twist and remove and debris. Reassemble the parts and insert the needle gently. As there may still be some gunk left in the nozzle I twist as I am inserting and see if it pushes any out the front of the nozzle. If it does i take it apart and start again. When your done painting run cleaner through the gun and back boil it to get any loose paint out. Back boiling is when you pull the needle back and put the heel of your hand over the tip to create a seal and just blast the air. It will force the air back through the brush and into the bottle or cup. Pour out the cleaner and run some fresh through it until it shoots through clear. Take the bottle off and losen the needle chuck. Pull the needle back a quarter inch and retighten the chuck nut. Brush is ready to be put away for next time.

:banghead:uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuggggggggggggggggggghhhh hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh not working. frustration level growing. I'm actually getting to the point where I feel like it might be my air compressor. I've taken it apart cleaned it repetitively all the ways you guys have suggested and its still speckling the water. The air *seems* to coming out smoothly but then again its hard to tell.

Maybe a hobby shop or something will be able to help me!:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghe ad:

wow - keep persevering I have an eclipse with the same issues so I'm following your thread. I invested in a fineline - top feeder and haven't touched the eclipse since...so I don't know if it's me ...the eclipse...or what, but my gun of choice is the fineline. The micron and me ....we are still doing battle :-)

Like I said I let it soak in a bucket of paint thinner / cleaner stuff for like 2 hours came back swooshed it around like a mad women, ran it all under water whipped it all down let it dry apart and put it back together with success! I was expecting failure too, and already had my next one picked out xD hahaa

GOOD LUCK! Take mine for now it seems to be lucky!

Seems like allot of hassle just to clean a ab. Do you have a set of tiny cleaning brushes? A set of brushes, lacquer thinner and some compressed air and always clean after each use. Especially water based paints. Createx seems to gunk up the gun the worst. Always did a tear down when using "creapullmyfuckinghairouttex". Euros are way easier to clean the gun.

Here is a set for 5 bucks http://www.tcpglobal.com/airbrushdepot/itemdetail.aspx?itemno=TCP+SG-209. Euros are slang for urethane.Del (ABD) got me started on saying that. Its a type of paint widely used on automobile applications.

If it happens again maybe a sewing needle would help you clean it out. You can avoid this by cleaning your ab properly next time. As long as you learned somthing your that much farther ahead. Never stop learning. Just when you think youve seen it all somthing else comes and bites you in the ass. :)
