questions about shirts

I was wondering when you are working out of your house how do you get your designs out to the public? I was thinking about doing some paintball shirts just to see how they would sell.

How do you guys know what kind of design to do that will sell?

My other question is about copy right. If I decide to draw my gun and put it on a shirt with out any labels saying what kind of gun or anything like that could I get into trouble?

Sorry for all the questions I am really interested into doing something just on the side but I am not sure how to get started.

I know exactly how you feel, I am in the same boat. Need to sell some T-shirts for money ;).

If you draw it, then it is your design and you can freely sell it as you please. You would only get in trouble if it was obviously stolen, like making the Needler from Halo and selling it.

As for what people will buy, just look what people are doing, people around me were listening to Breaking Benjamine so I am going to make a breaking benjamine shirt.

Also, if you are going to sell maybe 1 or 2 you won't get in trouble with anything, but if you start spitting out 100s of them you could get it.

if you want to really get into it,,,
try the soccer fields on Saturday mornings !!!
Soccer moms (Baseball/T-ball/Football)
will buy the shirts about as fast as you
can get them done,,, YMCA sponsors it here !!!
Got a neighborhood kid in school,,, hit them
with a prop,,, do a shirt for them,,, they wear
it to school,,, give them a percentage of every
shirt they sell,,, gives'm spendin money !!!
I do artwork for a local T-shirt screenprinter
and they refer any one shot shirts or custom
orders that they don't do,,, my way,, it works
pretty good so we both come out !!!
Got a major road in town ??? Set up a clothsrack
with all your shirts hangin on it with a sign advtng
airbrush shirts,,, roadside vending,, you might say !!!
Several diff approaches if you're really interested
but you gotta show your wares to move'm !!!
