Has anyone used Auto Air for doing ground panel work? I have a few projects in mind but am not currently set up to be able to use urethanes. If it works do I use the same techniques as far as prespraying with a binding coat on the bare panel?

Thanks

Tim

Haven't tried the the AA Candy on a ground panel, but would imagine you would need a binder as well, what are you using by the way to bind?

Think about the AA is spray it get a bit of heat on there then get some clear on top, these are soft and don't take kindly to the surface being tampered with unless a clear is applied.

Well I gave the Auto Air transparant paint a try on a ground panel. I used a spray bomb adhesion promoter and airbrushed the colors on. I realized after that the poly clear I had was satin finish....Oh well it works for the needs I have....I think it would pop more with a gloss. Next time.

i see this is an old thread......... AA on bare metal ?? or are you thinking the AP will cover the metal enough to where corrosion wont be an issue ?

Its all part of the fun in experimentation, grind and clean well, let fly...
