Those are great. I would add some transparent grey, or shading greay directly on the shadow portion of the planet. You won't need any stencils to do it eother since the background is black. Those comets are well executed too!
Wher are you in AZ?

I don't see anythng wrong with your daggers excetpt they are a little shaky
Do you hold your brush with 2 hands 1 for ab the other on palm for support that may help with the uneveness..
hope that answers your Question

Great job on the planets. Like what Sharon said use two hands. I would also suggest with your dagger strokes try not to think about them some much.

Hi John,
What I try and teach students is that the best way to get the feel for the daggar stroke is to keep your movement speed constant, your distance from the surface the same through the entire stroke but to start with a lot of paint and to slowly shut the paint down as you move. Make sure your movement is slow and steady. As soon as you get the paint going start moving the airbrush and start slowly pushing your finger forward as you are moving. It won't have a sharp tip but will be soft and consistant. Once you've got this down you can start to move your hand faster at the end of the stroke and finally you can move the airbrush in closer to the surface at the end to sharpen the stroke up.
Good luck and nice job so far, Steve.
