I'm painting a 91 katana for a customer. Ive already done all the body work, Laid out a very nice black peral green forest base coat and cleared all of it. Now the customer wants a tribal pattern laid out. So Ive sanded down the clear but I'm having trouble laying out a tribal pattern on the plastics. Ive already gone through a $16 dollar roll of fine line 1/8 inch tape.

My question is, is the anything that will show up nice on top of the saned clear coat to draw out a pattern that will wipe off easy. Ive tried chalk and its a no go. The dam tape is way too spendy to work up a proper tribal pattern. Any thoughts or suggestions?

First off, where the heck are you buying fineline tape? $16 a roll?!?!?!?!?!

K-TAPE from TPC Global is where I buy my fineline tape. Best stuff I've ever used and leave crisp clean lines like 3M without all that residue that 3M leaves behind.

1/8" x 60 YARDS for only $6.76. Shop around for fineline tape. Whoever you're buying it from is ripping you off.
