This older lady had gotten my number from a sign shop down the road for a couple specialty signs she wanted done. She's prob in her 70's and her dad used to hand paint the billboards here back in the 30's, so she has really been excited to tell me some of her old time stories of yesteryear lol! Anyways, did a repaint of the wooden one and took her old stop sign her dad used for a gate sign and redid it. Guess I didn't take a pic of the final wood sign, but here's the old one. Just need to clear the metal sign tomorrow. MP

Can actually find these at nearly every intersection lol!! Her dad had used the other side of it. Had replied to Todd's thread about how all the adhesive came off of the paint mask onto the sign, what a nightmare that was getting it off. I must've prepped it right cuz that stuff was like glue and didn't lose any paint lol!! MP

I'm a little confused about the purpose of the blue painter's tape on the stop sign. The finished product looks fine, but I guess I'm just missing the steps in between the ground panel and the finished product.

Yeah, had cut my mask with scissors so it would fit inside the sign because I had to also tape off for the border. Those were just fill in pieces of the backing from the used mask. MP

You got it, I like using that backing for taping off. One side has that shiny backing which I always put facing the artwork, in the past I actually had newspaper down on a sign and some of the newsprint transferred to the sign, never again. MP
