Hi,
I'm brand new to airbrushing, planning on getting an Iwata HP.BCS for body painting. I'm just trying to decide which compressor I need to use it with. I'm considering a Smart Jet Pro, Power Jet Lite or the Power Jet Lite HT. Would really appreciate your opinion on if you have experience with any of those and the BCS, especially if you've used them for body painting but even if not.

I'd usually paint one body at a time but want to be able to do several in a row for events/promotional work and would hate for the compressor to conk out on me in the middle of a job.

Cheers

I'm a Big fan of tank type comps,,, regardless,,,
can always put at a safe (for sound) distance and
go with a long hose,, even with couplings for multiple
connections for more than one brush (colors/detail),,,
it worked for us at a temp tattoo session for a community
gathering,, an all day affair,, but worked fine !!!
Good Luck on it !!!

Thanks for that, the Power Jet Lite HT has a tank in the handle (http://www.airbrushmegastore.com/images/Iwata/Compressors/power%20jet%20ht%20pdf.pdf) but that's not really a tank-type compressor is it? I watched a youtube video and it seemed to come on every 7-10 seconds. Does it mean I can use the airbrush longer if it's not running non-stop so the extra $55 for the HT would be worth it to me for that reason. I guess it would also extend the life of the compressor too wouldn't it?

With the tank,,, the comp kicks in just to fill the tank,,,
depending on the use,, you get 5/10 minutes of use till
the comp kicks in again,,, natch,, the larger the tank,,
the longer duration you get between comp kicking in,,,
with a "Tankless" comp,, it's forever running,, and you
get comp strokes (impulse) in your full coverage spurts,,,
like I say,,, I'm preff to a tank (at least 3/6 gal) comp,,,
cheaper,, less running,, 50 ft hose gives you breathing room
and allows more brushes connected to the session,,,
also allows you use of larger spray guns for full coverage,,,
my portable (6 gal tank) has been in service about 6 yrs,,,
still tickin,,, wallyworld for $150 general neighborhood price !!!
just 2 cents tho !!!
